In this Ask the Experts section, AJ “Big Al” Alfaro answers questions about all day stretchers and soreness, the challenges of excessive masturbation and jelqing, maintaining maximum conditioning with kegels without soreness, and an effective and easy exercise to increase penis girth.

Always start off at a comfortable limit.

Q: I developed a very similar all-day stretcher…

… with 80 grams of weight. I did it for 25 minutes, before I felt some tiredness and removed it. Afterward, I had no pain or discomfort… seems like a great stretcher, but, as of now, three times a day would put stress on my penis, causing major soreness. I feel like trying 25 minutes a day. Is that an okay schedule?

Big Al: Start out at a “comfortable” limit, but make sure each day you make an effort to effect some form of progress with time. Trainees can work up to hanging most of the day with light devices. Once you master being able to hang for hours, the important part becomes checking your set up regularly, to ensure you’re not cutting off circulation or causing skin issues.

Q: I was masturbating a lot and then…

… reviewed YourBrainOnPorn.com and I realized this is something that has to be dropped, if I am to become a better person. I am using some techniques on that website, to prevent masturbation. The thing is, if you recommend jelqing, it will bring focus on sexual thoughts right back, so I feel it’s a bit of a balancing act. I know excessive masturbation destroys EQ, right?

Big Al: Yes, excessive masturbation destroys EQ — ESPECIALLY if you masturbate to porn. The psychological effects have proven to be very damaging to men. Some find themselves unable to perform in real situations, due to emotional disconnect and the unrealistic fantasies they create in their minds.

Your mental approach plays a huge role in your success.

Q: I have several training…

… goals. My goals include:

To get very hard erections on command, or whenever needed.

Size increase in length and girth. (This will increase my confidence greatly.)

A manageable routine that is not too time consuming or taxing.

Any advice?

Big Al: There’s three main phases of training before you become acquainted with yourself, your abilities, and your workouts — two of which are in the beginner phase. The easier is the break-in period (weeks 1 – 4). This is followed by a more stressful conditioning period of high volume training (weeks 5 - 6). Lastly, there’s the period of rest and recuperation (layoff), followed by training using the briefer, but more intense and efficient, advanced routines.

Besides “fitness,” your mental approach will play a huge role in your success at achieving your goals. Learn to avoid becoming anxious by being too worried about the status of your penis. When you are relaxed and can enjoy the mental and/or physical stimulation that causes you to become erect, your penis will fulfill its intended purpose.

Q: Kegeling works really well, but how…

… am I to maintain maximum conditioning without reaching plateau and soreness?

Big Al: Don’t over-kegel. Kegel during scheduled training, and try to avoid kegeling where it’s not specified. In this way, you give your PC and associated muscles the rest they need to recover and strengthen. Keep a close eye on your training performance and EQ levels. If you note a sore PC, spasms, or an overwhelming tendency to contract the PC during stretches or other movements, you may very likely have an over-worked PC.

Clamping is the most intense girth exercise.

Q: For girth, I need an effective, easy…

… exercise. I was thinking jelqing, cock ring exercises for girth, or clamping. What would you recommend?

Big Al: There’s an order of intensity to specific exercises. Typically, girth exercises are, from the least to the most intense, as follows:

Jelqs

Squeezes

ULIs

Clamping

Clamping is the most intense and risky, while jelqs are the least intense (though, ironically, not the least risky).

Your penis is one of your most prized possessions. You wouldn’t be here on PEGym.com if you didn’t value and want to improve your penis. However, it’s surprising how many guys don’t keep this important organ clean. You wash your hair. You brush your teeth. You clean your fingernails when they get dirty. Your penis deserves just as much (if not more) hygienic attention. In this article we’ll discuss why a clean penis is a happy penis and how to keep it that way.

There are several reasons why a clean penis is a happy penis.

Why is a Clean Penis a Happy Penis?

Following are just a few reasons why you want to keep your penis clean.

Prevent Smegma Build Up – Smegma is a natural lubricant, designed to keep the penis moist. However, smegma can build up, especially in men who are uncircumcised, and create an off-putting order.

Prevent Balanitis – Bacteria built up around the head of the penis, from not being kept clean, can result in balanitis. This bacterial infection results in a red, swollen and often painful head of the penis.

Less Likelihood of Irritation when Exercising – When exercising your penis, a clean penis is less likely to get irritated then one that is already under physical duress from bacteria.

Your Partner will Thank You – When it comes to sex, most women will tell you a clean penis is aesthetically more pleasing than one that is not. This is especially true when it comes to oral sex. The last thing you want is for an offensive smell or taste, due to poor hygiene, to turn your partner off.

Warm water, a soft washcloth, and a mild, non-perfumed soap is all that’s needed to keep your penis clean.

How to Clean Your Penis:

Vigorous scrubbing and disinfectant soaps are NOT needed to keep your penis clean and healthy. In fact, being too rough or using a soap that is too strong or too perfumed can irritate your skin. Instead,

Warm water,

A soft wash cloth, and

A mild, non-perfumed soap

are all you need to keep clean and fresh.

If you’re uncircumcised, be sure to gently pull back your foreskin and clean and rinse thoroughly. Addition to cleaning the shaft of the penis, don’t forget the pubic region and your testicles. The hair of the pubic region is a perfect trap for bacteria. Like your underarms, the hair here captures sweat, which can result in offensive odor. Lastly, don’t forget the area between your testicles and anus, while you’re cleaning.

When you’re finished, be sure to dry yourself off completely with a clean towel. Leaving yourself damp from showering can promote bacteria growth.

SIDE NOTE: While cleaning your testicles, this is a great time to check monthly for lumps or swelling. If you notice anything unusual, talk to your doctor immediately.

Sleep deprivation is never a good thing. In addition to negatively affecting your productivity and your mood, there have been numerous studies that correlate sleep deprivation to morbidity and mortality. It’s definitely important to get in your Z’s! However, a recently published study in the American Journal of Epidemiology, shows not getting enough sleep could also negatively affect your sperm quality.

Sleep disturbances could negatively affect your sperm quality.

The Sleep Deprivation and Sperm Quality Study:

Researchers Jensen et al. conducted a cross-sectional study of 953 men, between January 2008 and June 2011. Each man:

Delivered a semen sample,

Had a blood sample drawn, and

Underwent a physical examination

Each study participant was then asked to complete a questionnaire about their lifestyle, including sleep disturbances. The sleep disturbance questions focused on sleep patterns over the most recent four weeks.

Men who reported sleep disturbances had 29% less sperm in their semen.

Sleep Deprivation and Sperm Quality Findings:

According to Jensen et al., “Sleep disturbances showed an inverse U-shaped association with sperm concentration, total sperm count, percent motile and percent morphologically normal spermatozoa, and testis size.” The findings were very interesting. Men who reported having a high level of sleep disturbance (insomnia, waking multiple times in the night, sleep apnea, etc.):

Had a 29% lower adjusted sperm concentration.

Had 1.6% few morphologically normal spermatozoa

The researchers hope future studies will investigate whether sleep disturbance interventions then have a positive effect on restoring sperm quality to normal levels.

An overall healthy lifestyle, including proper sleep, is critical to producing strong swimmers.

Sleep Deprivation and Sperm Quality Study Notes:

The researchers noted that men who reported sleep disturbances were also more likely to have a higher BMI and/or reported other unhealthy lifestyle facets, including smoking and heavy drinking. It is noted that these factors may also be a contributor to the lower sperm quality in the respondents. In general, healthy lifestyle habits — eating right, getting exercise, stop smoking, drinking in moderation, and a good night’s sleep — are going to ensure you have the strongest swimmers possible!

A vasectomy is considered to be one of the permanent methods of birth control, by preventing the release of sperm during ejaculation. Typically an outpatient procedure, having a vasectomy is relatively safe. However, there are side effects you should be aware of, to ensure you’ve made an informed decision when deciding whether or not a vasectomy is right for you.

A vasectomy is one form of permanent birth control.

Vasectomy Procedure Overview:

Having a vasectomy is typically an outpatient procedure. It can even be performed in a doctor’s office. After a local anesthetic is applied and takes effect, a small incision is made in one side of the scrotum. The vas deferens has a small section removed. The ends are then closed off with either sutures or cauterization. The procedure is then repeated on the other side of the scrotum.

There is a no-scalpel version of the vasectomy, where a small clamp with pointed ends is poked through the skin of the scrotum, then opened. This is typically a smaller opening than scalpel vasectomies. Another variation involves the use of a Vasclip, where the vas deferens is locked closed with the device, instead of cut, then sutured or cauterized.

By disconnecting the vas deferens, sperm is prevented from mixing into the semen. However, the testicles do continue to produce sperm. This sperm is simply reabsorbed by the body, which is the same thing that happens if you haven’t ejaculated, after awhile, and you have not had a vasectomy. Other male hormones are still produced and secreted into the blood stream, the same as pre-vasectomy.

A Vasclip can be used in lieu of cutting and suturing or cauterizing the vas deferens.

Vasectomy Side Effects:

Despite being a relatively safe and straightforward procedure, there are potential side effects you should be aware of, prior to making your decision on whether or not to get a vasectomy. These include:

Slight Reduction in Ejaculate Volume – The fluid that normally carries the sperm from the testes makes up approximately 10 percent of the ejaculate volume. For this reason, following a vasectomy, there will be a slight reduction (most men don’t notice it) in your ejaculate volume. However, other factors – smell, taste, and texture – will be the same.

Possible Reduction in Sexual Desire – In some studies, 10 to 20 percent of men reported a diminished level of sexual desire, following their vasectomy.

Possible Development of Anti-sperm Antibodies – Anti-sperm antibodies are developed in approximately 60 to 70 percent of men, within a year of their vasectomy, preventing the sperm from being reabsorbed into the body. In some of these cases, the built up sperm can increase pressure, resulting in ruptures and causing sperm granulomas to form, to absorb the sperm.

Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome – A very small percentage of men experience post-vasectomy pain syndrome, as a complication of having a vasectomy. This is a very uncommon condition, which can either be orchialigia pain, where pain is experienced during intercourse, ejaculation or physical exercise, or tender epididymides pain, where a tenderness is constant. Nerve stripping, in these rare cases, is typically successful to provide complete relief.

Vasclip Ineffectiveness – In some studies, vasectomies using the Vasclip to clamp off the vas deferens, instead of cutting and suturing or cauterizing, is not as effective in permanently providing birth control.

Spontaneous Failure of the Vasectomy - In very rare cases, the cut ends of the vas deferens may reconnect, making the man fertile once again. In other rare cases, one cut end may open, allowing the sperm to mix again with the semen.

You’ve likely heard someone say the phrase, “Size doesn’t matter.” Guess what? They may have been wrong. A new study shows size does matter to women, even before they have sex with you.

The saying “Size doesn’t matter” may be wrong.

Penis Size From a Layman’s Point of VIew

Let’s look at the penile traits it doesn’t take a PhD to understand. Consider these facts:

Unlike many other mammals, a man’s penis does not retract.

The human male’s penis is proportionally larger than any other primate.

Man stands upright, placing the penis right out front when approaching a female.

It would appear, at least anecdotally, that the aesthetic quality of your penis could matter, at least prior to the development of clothing. It was likely one of the first things a woman saw. How could it not matter when she was choosing a mate?

49 life-sized, nude, male figures were reviewed and scored on attractiveness.

The Importance of Penis Size Research

A new study conducted by researchers Brian Mautz, Bob Wong, Richard Peters, and Michael Jennings, released by Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences appears to indicate that a human male’s penis size does affect sexual attractiveness. Conducted at the Australian National University, the researchers found the size of a man’s genitalia was found to be directly related to “precopulatory female mate choice, based on male genital traits.”

Mautz and his colleagues created 49 computer-generated, life-sized, nude, male figures. These figures were a representation of three different traits:

Height,

Shoulder to hip ratio, and

Flaccid penis size

105 women, who averaged 26 years old, were then asked to review each figure and score them on their attractiveness, on a scale from 1 to 7. These women were alone in the room as they reviewed the figures, and their responses were anonymous.

Penis size was found to be just as important as stature.

The Importance of Penis Size Results

Some of the results of study confirmed past study findings. First, women do prefer taller men. They also prefer men with broad shoulders and narrow hips — think classic swimmer’s physique. These were not surprising. However, when Mautz and his team controlled for these variables, one very interesting fact became clear -

Penis size (both length and girth) was nearly as important to women,
in rating attractiveness as stature!

As Mautz explained, “As you increase (flaccid) penis size, the amount of attractiveness scores gets bigger.” Not only did women score the figures with larger flaccid penis sizes higher, they also spent more time looking at the figures with larger penises.

Interestingly, women with a larger body mass index showed an even stronger preference for the figures with larger penises. It was also found that for the taller men, penis size was even more critical to the women in their attractiveness scores. Mautz theorized this was due to “a taller guy must have a disproportionately larger penis to sort of make it clear” that he is well-endowed.

In their findings, the researchers conclude, “The observation has generated suggestions that human size partly evolved because of the female choice. (…) Our results support the hypothesis that female mate choice could have driven the evolution of larger penises in humans. More broadly, our results show that precopulatory sexual selection can play a role in the evolution of genital traits.”

Along with penis size, stamina in the bedroom is a real concern for many men. Although there are ways to work around issues with premature ejaculation and satisfying your partner, being unable to control your orgasm can frustrating and can wreak havoc on the ego. This is where climax control condoms have entered the marketplace.

Climax control condoms use Benzocaine to desensitize the penis.

What Are Climax Control Condoms?

Climax control condoms, as the name implies, are designed to help control ejaculation. Sometimes referred to as “extended pleasure” condoms, these condoms have a special lubricant that is purported to help with premature ejaculation. What is this special lubricant? Benzocaine.

Benzocaine is a topical pain reliever. This local anesthetic is often found in over-the-counter mouth pain treatments, such as Anbesol, Cepacol and Carmex. It is also sometimes found in ear drops used for the treatment of inner ear pain. The Benzocaine provides a slight numbing of the nerve endings where it is applied.

Climax control condoms can help minimize sensation to help prevent premature ejaculation.

Pros About Climax Control Condoms

For men who have extreme premature ejaculation problems, the numbing sensation of the climax control condom can help minimize the sensation, and therefore control orgasm. If you find yourself orgasming at first entry, or worse – at first touch!, the numbing may be just what you need to get past this instantaneous orgasm. Also, most women don’t notice any different sensation, than any other condom.

Climax control condoms can work too well, completely numbing the penis and preventing ejaculation or causing a loss of erection.

Cons About Climax Control Condoms

For some men, the numbing sensation is simply too much. Many users have reported having trouble orgasming with climax control condoms. It appears you the Benzocaine can take men from one extreme (premature ejaculation) to the other (unable to ejaculate). Some have even reported the loss of erection, due to the loss of feeling in the penis, or an uncomfortable burning sensation, causing loss of erection. Occasionally, the numbness is also experienced by women, which can then be frustrating for both partners.

Dr. Richard R. Howard II discusses erectile dysfunction and treatment options, in the following article.

<a href="http://www.pegym.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/erectile-dysfunction-edtreatmenttoday.jpeg" rel="lightbox[4624]" title="ED Treatment Options by Dr. Richard R.
Erectile Dysfunction Treatment Options

There are many options for treating erectile dysfunction (ED). Managing ED may involve psychological, medical (oral, transdermal or injected drugs), nutritional (supplements), and PE therapies. To correct ED, it is essential to address any underlying chronic conditions and modify lifestyle factors such as:

Obesity,

Smoking,

Alcohol consumption, and

Lack of exercise.

Psychological therapy, such as counseling and behavioral therapy, can be effective if psychological factors are contributing to erectile dysfunction. Because ED can be a side effect of certain medications, it may be helpful to change drug regimens under a doctor’s care. Finally, it is important for men to remain physically and sexually active for as long as possible.

Popularly-advertised drugs, like Viagra, help restore sexual function through dilating blood vessels.

Erectile Dysfunction and Popular Advertised Drugs

Today, aging men are exposed to information and advertisements touting a wide variety of drugs and supplements that may help restore sexual function. The most popular option is a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. These include Viagra® and Levitra®.

These drugs dilate blood vessels in the genital region, leading to an erection. Unfortunately, they do very little to increase libido (sexual desire). While these medications are valuable tools in the symptomatic treatment of erectile dysfunction, they may produce multiple side effects such as:

Headaches,

Changes in blood pressure,

Irregular heart rhythm,

Flushing,

Nasal congestion, and others symptoms,

Additionally, their long-term risks are unknown.1

Erectile Dysfunction and Hormones

Men whose blood tests indicate hormonal deficiencies or imbalances can use bioidentical hormones to help manage ED. Replacement of androgens can be crucial in restoring normal sexual function. While testosterone is available by prescription only, over-the-counter hormones such as DHEA and pregnenolone may help boost testosterone levels and thus improve erectile dysfunction.

Korean Red Ginseng may have properties useful in treating ED.

Erectile Dysfunction and Herbal Supplements

Owing to a lack of research in this area, the efficacy of some supplements in managing ED is considered moderate to uncertain. The benefits of most of the products available have been described through cultural experience and anecdotal reports. Many herbal “aphrodisiacs” have a positive influence on erectile dysfunction, and some have an effect on hormonal output as well.

Emerging evidence and case reports suggest that naturally occurring agents such as L-arginine,1,2 Korean red ginseng,3 zinc,4 DHEA,5-10 maca root,1,11 and Tribulus terrestris12 may help improve sexual function and thus ED. A naturally occurring alkaloid called yohimbine, derived from the African tree, Pausinystalia yohimbe, has been used for over 70 years as a pharmacological agent in treating ED.,1,13,14

Other herbs that have been reported to improve ED include horny goat weed, oat straw (Avena sativa), damiana, muira puama, and ashwagandha. Studies of these herbal plants have often yielded inconsistent results, and clinical evidence to support herbal agents in managing ED is still minimal. Those who do not benefit from drugs, supplements, or psychological treatment may see improvement with intracavernosal injection (such as prostaglandin and papaverine plus phentolamine),15 vacuum/constrictive devices, and last but not least various PE stamina exercises which has already been extensively discussed in other articles.

The Foreseeable Future

A good way to look at the foreseeable future is to compare penis exercises to other historical growth industries and what happened in the progression of technological innovations.

Although the principle of flight remains unchanged, advancements in aviation have come a long way since the Wright Brothers first flight.

Aviation Developments

The aviation industry’s evolution has been dramatic, starting with the Wright Brothers biplane at Kitty Hawk, NC. Do you know how planes fly?

Planes fly based on a pressure differential between the upper surface of the wing and the atmospheric pressure — the Bernoulli Principle. In other words, there is a mild vacuum between the upper part of the wing and the atmosphere creating lift. The forward force propelled by the engines causes the airflow over the wing to be faster on the upper surface of the wing than the lower surface. This reduces pressure and creates a vacuum on the upper surface of the wing, allowing the plan to be buoyed so it can fly.

Over the years, airplanes have dramatically advanced in speed, safety and ability to fly at higher altitudes. What has driven this development? These advancements were the result of a demand by the population to get to places faster and with greater ease. Bernoulli’s principle is still the same. This principle of lift is true of biplanes, jet planes and rocket propulsion, while in the atmosphere, yet today’s aircraft are significantly more advanced than they were just a few short generations ago. Why?

There is an inherent demand in human nature to progress to greater and greater levels of achievement across the board. This same demand is present in the penis exercising industry. Although we have tools and products that work, it’s human nature to desire advancements for even better products to get results faster and easier.

In the 1920s, Charles Atlas revolutionized the body building industry.

The Bodybuilding Industry

Let’s look at the bodybuilding industry, which is closely comparable in the penis exercising industry. PE is, in fact, bodybuilding!

Many years ago, a gentleman by the name of Charles Atlas developed from a “97-pound weakling” into a very well-built, muscular individual, based on his formulation of a concept called “dynamic tension.” While at a zoo one day, he observed the lions stretching and toning their muscles. He reasoned that lions are very strong, and perhaps there may be a something to be learned by this observation. He designed a method by which one muscle group could be pushed/pulled against another, to stimulate growth and strength.

This worked, and his course became revolutionary. It was one of the first innovative courses in bodybuilding! It did not use mechanical methods to build muscle, simply manual methods. Does this sound familiar?

Anyone who is aware of the body bodybuilding industry knows much has happened since Charles Atlas. Essentially, bodybuilding started out with manual methods, barbells and dumbbells, which progressed into simple weightlifting machines. This then progressed into the Nautilus and on to the modern-day equipment found in gym’s and health clubs around the world today. Bodybuilding has come a long way, in terms of the techniques and equipment used. This has greatly impacted the bodybuilder. Bodybuilders of today are dramatically larger and stronger than those decades ago, thanks to these improvements.

The PE Industry

The penis exercising industry is comparable, in many respects, to the bodybuilding industry, because it is in fact a form of bodybuilding. As a scientist, I perceive basically a similar progression from manual to incrementally more sophisticated mechanical equipment that will essentially result in greater increases and enhancement in sexual prowess.

The Chartham Penis Pump was simple, safe and effective.

We first started with what was called the Chartham Method, consisting of a basic bulb vacuum and jelqing routine. Although simplistic, it worked well and would yield predicable gains. Then manual and electric vacuum pumps became available, which was of some help. The knowledge of effective use of pumps, at that time, was limited. The principle of edema was not fully comprehended as a negative. Nevertheless, these vacuum pumps were an advancement for penis exercising.

In the late 1990s, a Scandinavian scientist by the name of Jes Bec Mueller came up with the brilliant invention of that day called — Jes Extended. This ushered in the plethora of extender devices. For its day, it was a great innovation and reasonably convenient to use. Hourly loosening of the noose grip was necessary for circulation; other than this, the device was a stroke of genius for the time.

Big Al established the idea of coaching PE in the late 1990s.

Also in the late 1990s, a gentleman affectionately known as “Big Al” established the idea of coaching penis exercises. His extensive knowledge of bodybuilding enabled him to formulate original ideas and methods of effective PE. He is a pioneer in Internet website presentation of all known aspects of manual penis exercising. Without Big Al, the concept of coaching and teaching to enable the student might not exist today.

Around the year 2000, another major breakthrough in mechanical devices came about. This breakthrough was made by a persistent gentleman who, through self experimentation, gained from 6 inches to 10 ½ inches in length and 5 inches to 6 ½ inches in girth, over several years. It worked so well for him, he developed the Bib Hanger/Starter/Hardcore, a truly remarkable device with open-ended traction capability.

The progression of technology in bodybuilding, and hence penis exercises, strongly suggests the best of all worlds is to combine the manual and mechanical, for optimal results. It is not an either/or situation. The best results come from combinations, of this I am certain as a scientist.

I foresee continued innovations in the mechanical advancement, similar to the body building progression of dynamic tension, free weights, Nautilus by Arthur Jones on to current day high-tech equipment found in gyms and fitness center. I see different designs utilizing traction technology and allowing greater comfort, higher traction and longer wearing times.

We, at Your Penis Doctor, MeCoach, and PE Gym, do not rest on our laurels. The current technology we are working on is called the LG Hanger prototype, which is in testing stages.

LG stands for length/girth. It offers substantial traction, comfort, and longer wearing time per set. This device, after testing, should be available in the relatively near future and can be used in conjunction with penis pumps and/or manual exercise. The LG Hanger complements vacuum pumps and is the most technologically advanced hanger to date.

This cutting-edge concept offers a combination that will potentially induce growth of the penis greater than has yet been seen! Remember the analogy of bodybuilders of yesteryear versus today? I anticipate the progress will be similar to that!

Going further into the future, motion engineers also will be employed to construct devices that will have computerized, differential protocols of automated motion and traction. This will provide optimal growth patterns and will be energy-efficient on the individual. We are, in fact, studying and testing these cutting-edge methods with machinists and motion engineers right now. By having engineers and machinist working cooperatively together with scientists in these endeavors, we are limited only by our imagination. I believe the sky’s the limit, or more appropriately, the stars are the limit. Science and technology marches forward and will wait for no man. One can participate in progressive innovations or be left behind.

If you watch television, chances are you’ve seen commercials for the treatment of “Low T.” Although you may know the term “Low T” stands for “low testosterone,” what is Low T exactly? What are the symptoms? And, what can you do about it?

Testosterone has several functions in the male body.

Overview of Low Testosterone

Testosterone (androgen) is the male hormone, produced primarily in the testes. Testosterone has numerous functions in the body, including:

Promoting your sex drive

Stimulating sperm production

Increasing muscle mass and strength

Maintaining bone strength

Regulating your moods

Your brain works in conjunction with your testicles to keep your testosterone levels within a normal range. When these levels dip below normal, the brain tells your testicles to make more testosterone. It’s normal for a man’s testosterone levels to decrease as they age. Known as andropause or male menopause, most men aren’t negatively affected by this slight drop in testosterone levels. However, for some Low T can result in significant problems.

Low testosterone can result in a loss of sex drive.

Symptoms of Low Testosterone

There are a variety of symptoms of Low T, and these symptoms can vary in intensity among men. These can include:

Hot flashes

Irritability

Loss of sex drive

Erectile dysfunction

Decreased fertility

Hair loss

Decreased muscle mass

Decreased bone density (osteoporosis)

Decreased energy/sluggishness

Causes of Low Testosterone

Other than the slight natural decline in testosterone most mean experience as they age, there are several other reasons why men experience a drop in their testosterone levels. These include:

Testicular injury

Certain medications

Hypogonadism

Hormonal imbalance

Testicular cancer

Infection

Chronic liver or kidney disease

Type 2 diabetes

Obesity

HIV/AIDS

Sometimes the cause of Low T simply is unknown.

Buccal tablets are placed on the gum and dissolve over 12 hours.

Treatments for Low Testosterone

Diagnosis for Low T begins with a blood test, to confirm your testosterone level and may include tests to rule out other possible conditions. Once Low T has been confirmed you have several treatment options to choose from.

Testosterone gels or solutions – These are applied to the skin daily, to provide a continuous delivery of testosterone. With gels or solutions, you have to be careful others do not come into contact to the application area of your skin.

Testosterone patches – Testosterone patches are also applied daily, to allow for continuous delivery of testosterone throughout the day.

Testosterone injections – Injections for Low T treatment are usually given in the buttocks, once every one to two weeks, by your physician.

Testosterone pellets – This relatively new form of treatment, has pellets surgically implanted under your skin of the buttocks or the hip area. There they dissolve and release testosterone slowly over the period of three to four months. This treatment must be performed by your physician.

Buccal tablet – Buccal tablets are placed in the mouth, to the gum. The testosterone is then released over a 12-hour period.

Your penis is an important part of your life. It not only often represents your masculinity, but a healthy penis can enhance your self confidence and your self esteem. Following are six things every man should know about his penis.

Your penis is an important part of your life.

Regular Erections Are Key – If you want to keep your penis in tip-top shape, regular erections are key. Each time you have an erection, blood fills the smooth muscle of the penis, enriching it with oxygen. Performing regular penis exercises that bring the penis out of a flaccid state is a great way to rejuvenate the muscle tissue with a freshly oxygenated blood supply. For men suffering from erectile dysfunction, a penis pump can be used to pull blood into the penis. If you do not have regular erections, the result? A shorter penis!

Know if You’re a Shower or a Grower - Men who have a longer flaccid length, but do not gain as much length when they become erect are referred to as “showers.” Those who have a smaller flaccid length, but grow substantially when they become erect are referred to as “growers.” A study conducted by Alfred Kinsey, famed sex researcher, found that men who had shorter flaccid penises typically gained approximately twice as much length as those men who started off with longer flaccid penises.

Penis Sensitivity - According to research published in the British Journal of Urology International, The underside of the shaft and the underside of the glans were found to be the most sensitive areas on the penis, by a majority of the 81 respondents. The sensitivity of the penis, though, declines with age. From about 25 years old and on, you start to lose sensitivity along your penis, with the most significant decline happening between the ages of 65 and 75.

Vibrators aren’t just for women.

Vibrators Aren’t Just for Women – Although traditionally thought of as sexual aids for women, vibrators can be useful for men too. If you’re having an issue with delayed ejaculation, a vibrator can help. For men without ejaculation issues, you can also just use a vibrator for fun. There are even cock rings designed to hold a small vibrator for both your pleasure and hers.

Penis Bacteria – There are 42 different types of bacteria that live on the skin of your penis. However, men who have been circumcised have less bacteria than those who have not. Typically after a circumcision, anaerobic bacteria is no longer present, which is most commonly found in the foreskin.

Only 30 percent of men are circumcised globally.

Circumcision Isn’t as Common as You’d Expect – Although the statistics vary widely by demographics, it is far more common for a man to be uncircumcised than circumcised. Only about 30 percent of men over the age of 14 are circumcised globally, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). However, in contrast, nearly all Jewish and Muslim men are circumcised. In fact, these two religions make up approximately 70 percent of all circumcised men around the world. The United States, in general, has a higher than global average number of circumcisions, but this number has dropped significantly in recent years. In 1999, 63 percent of male babies born were circumcised. This number dropped to 54.5 percent in 2009.
