just because there are no short term side effects doesnt mean it wont have any long term effects this could effect your children or your grandchildren just my two cents.... |
smallie,
Thanks for your reply and concern. You have valid arguments and reasonings and that is precisely why I wrote the stern warning about the risks. I emphasized worse case scenarios in an effort to discourage young do-it-yourself types that have a feeling of invinciblitiy. There certainly are risks involved with this or, as
remek pointed out, any type of PE. However, if done properly and intelligently it is rather safe.
Men have been injecting themselves safely with ED medications for years. The risks and complications arise from not knowing what you are doing or taking unnecessary risks out of impatience. Proper education and training is the key to safety. Let's take a look at the potential problems that might occur.
From PGE-1 (or any other vasodilator) injections: Priapism - priapism is an erection lasting more than 4 hours. It can be the result of over dosing with the prescribed vasodilators. Why is this dangerous? For an erection to occur, blood is trapped in the penis from the constriction of veins. Without fresh blood circulating in the penis, the tissue becomes oxygen starved and begins to die. If left unchecked the tissue necrosis can set up gangrene and lead to death. This is the doomsday version of what could happen. The good new is, that if titrated properly, the dosage should not propose a problem. In the rare event of a priapism, there are certain things that can help such as taking Sudafed with Pseudoephedrine in it. Caution should be exercised as some newer versions of Sudafed do not contain Pseudoephedrine. The ones that do usually are kept behind the counter due to meth manufacturing issues. In any event after 4 hours with an erection a trip to the ER may be necessary. They can give you an injection that will bring the erection down.
Worse can scenarios happen to the stubborn or foolish that think they don't need a doctor. Check out this post if you a feeling you could handle a prolonged priapism...
Megalophallus
Fibrosis - Fibrosis or Peyronie's disease has been linked to repeated injections of vasodilators over months or years. The main culprit is Papervine. There are also cases with PGE-1 but these are much rarer. In any case, if you notice any signs of fibrosis discontinue the injections.
From IGF-1 LR3
IGF-1 LR3 is a growth hormone. IGF-1 is produced naturally by the liver from the metabolizing of HGH (human growth hormone) so this product already occurs naturally in the body. The modified version IGF-LR3 simply increases the half life of the product and allows for greater binding potential.
Risks include growth of other organs/tissues containing IGF-1 receptors such as the intestines. How much of a risk is this? Not much. The recommended dosage for penile injections is 10 to 15mcg. Bodybuilders take upwards of 60-80mcg and as much as 100mcg per day. This has resulted in what is called "perma-gut" in such BB's as Ronnie Coleman, from enlarged intestines. You have to remember, not only do these guys take large dosages, the chemical is injected directly in various muscles allow for a much greater systemic effect. The recommendation for penile injection is to wear a cock-ring or constriction device to keep the IGF-1 LR3 localized in the penis. In which case the risks for systemic effect should be minimal.
Another risk is if you have cancer. Being that IGF-1 is a growth hormone, it can accelerate the growth rate of cancer. So, if there is a question there, it would be best not to use this product. Studies show that IGF-1 does not cause cancer, but may accelerate the growth.
As you can see, there are risks involved in this protocol. But, like with any endeavor, caution and a bit of common sense goes a long way.
