The only way the body can produce vitamins is if certain food stuffs are ingested. The body NEEDS these vitamins otherwise certain aspects of the body will break down.

Taking these vitamins in correct doses should not damage the body in any way, unless the vitamins pills (in this survey) were not of a high standard and were packed full of other chemicals.

I also can’t understand how scientists can prove vitamins increase mortality rates. Do they follow a group of people their entire lives and wait for them to drop dead? People may be doing all sorts of things, drugs, smoking, drinking; a few vitamins here and there wont do any good.
And how CAN you prove vitamins prolong life??? Do they tell people "well sir, without these vitamins you’ve been taking, you should have died last Thursday, congratulations!!”

These surveys aren’t reliable. Each individual will live a different amount of time, a couple of long living folks could have an impact on the average lifespan for a group, you just can’t tell with these things.

I may be babbling, I’m extremely tired =D
