Epilogue

When the meeting of the round table had been called, Sir Stud had to attend on a litter. Merlin and the Kings physicians had patched his lung with a very thin fish bladder and Merlin had concocted a potion so that it would heal. He was bandaged tightly around the chest and torso, but managed a wink at Sir Sonic.
King Arthur stood and said, "There will be a wake for Miss Betsy tomorrow at Nikki's, and we will all attend.
After the wake, Lars will be executed for her murder and Nacho Vidal will start his twenty year prison sentence.
I want to commend all of you knights, for the rescue of Sir Stud and express my sorrow for the loss of Miss Betsy."

The wake was festive, yet somber. There was food and drink aplenty and everyone partook. After the wake and Betsy had been laid to rest in her family's cemetery, Nikki closed her brothel for one week out of respect. There was much grumbling over this by some of the patrons that hadn't even known Miss Betsy.

Everyone made the journey to the castle to watch the execution of Lars.

Lars stood in the courtyard bare to the waist. Four large horses were brought in and these were tied to Lars' wrists and ankles. They were led a distance away until the ropes became taught. Lars had fallen to his knees arms outstretched, begging for mercy from King Arthur.

King Arthur stepped up on his raised podium and the trumpets sounded for silence. He spoke in a loud, clear voice to the assembled people of BetterMan and those from the Hamlet of Holster that were assembled and said,
"Lars Adamander from the Town of Stockholm, you are charged with the kidnapping of a Knight from the Kingdom of BetterMan, Sir Stud. You are also charged with the kidnapping and murder of Miss Betsy Shvenson. Your punishment for these crimes is; To be drawn and quartered."

He raised his arm, dropped it suddenly and the four squires hit their horses hard on the flank with a leather strap. The horses bolted in four different directions. With a loud popping sound, Lars was torn in four pieces.
