Mike: If you're experiencing erection troubles, then you're no doubt overtraining. Take some time off from PE. At least a week, maybe much more (depending on how long it takes for your erections to return to normal).
A lot of men overtrain, hoping that it will gain them more. Often the opposite is true. In fact, this could be the reason you're not gaining in the first place. So in that regard, stay away from PE and away from masturbation or sex, at least in the meantime.
