Default Newb with a problem

Hey guys, Im new here and I've got a bit of a problem, but before I state my problem, I just want to throw out there that Im 20 years old but over the last year or two I've been masterbating about once per week on average, and no I havent been getting alot from girls.

I started PEing back in December and noticed in January I wasnt getting any gains or morning wood at all, so I changed my routine from one suggested to me by a friend of mine (30 minutes of jelqing) to the newbie routine suggested here, except I was doing 3 days on 1 day off... after 2 more weeks of no gains and no morning wood, I decided I should take a good break, so I did. I masterbated maybe once a week for about 4 or 5 weeks, but my morning wood never really returned.

I can't actually remember if before I started my first PE routine if I was getting morning wood or not... Im a rower, so I was getting up at 4:30am in the fall, but can't remember if I was getting lots of wood then or not... either way, its never really returned.

Being a rower, I get plenty of exercise and I eat pretty healthy... Im in great physical shape overall.

A couple weeks ago I started doing the real newbie routine, 2 days on, one day off. A 5 minute warmup in the shower, some light stretching followed by 10 minutes of jelqing and then some kegeling and a warm down and I was getting occasional morning wood and I know I was getting some night wood too... but my morning wood is gone again, which is supposed to be a bad sign and so is my night wood, so I've been off for about four days now, but I've been masterbating everyday since I thought that maybe my lack of actually using my partner in crime was part of the reason he's been down and out.

If you guys have any suggestions, Im definitely open and ready to listen.

As for my EQ, I would say when Im my firmest... a 9 or a 10 for sure.

Thanks for your help,

Andyroo

Well, I'm surely no expert and I don't want to sound like one, but here are some thoughts...

How is your dream life? Do you recall dreams at night? Do you sleep through the entire night without waking?

Nocturnal erections coincide with REM sleep as do dreams. We do not typically remember having dreams unless we wake up or are roused during dreams.

You could be having nocturnal erections, but just not aware of it.
Any kind of sleep disturbance could contribute to interrupted REM sleep and therefor a greater awareness of nocturnal erections/morning wood.

I would suggest an experiment: Try drinking about 16 ounces of water before you go to bed each night. Try this for about a week. It will definitely cause you to get up out of bed at least once.
I personally cannot think of a time that I had to get up to urinate and was not dreaming. It's also common to wake up to urinate and also have an erection. I always thought that this is what Stephen King was referring to when he talked about a "piss hard-on" in some of his novels.

Not to add to any confusion you may have, but if you are refraining from masturbation for the sake of PE, you might want to reconsider. Once a week would just about kill me. Masturbate at will!
But the sage advice around these parts seems to be to delay masturbation on PE days for several hours after the workout. Usually I don't masturbate on PE days myself, but once a week seems unusually repressive if you have a normal sexual appetite.
Judging lace of nocturnal erections might not be the best negative physiologic indicator to follow. There are many variables involved. If your EQ is a 9 or 10 and everything seems in working order, you seem healthy otherwise, and if no other apparent negative PIs, you might just want to continue with a break and then ease back into a very light every other day program for a while. Be patient, don't expect big results in the short term and listen to your body.

Well I usually do wake up during the night because I breathe through my mouth and I wake when my mouth gets dry and I have a glass of water handy and I generally remember my dreams too, but as I said recently when I've been waking up to no wood at all

I'll try drinking a bunch of water before I go to sleep as well though, just to make sure I do wake up.

As for why I dont masterbate alot... I guess back in highschool I did it a ton, like often a few times a day, but then I kinda cut back on it and I guess I had what we can call a life style change and since I grew accustomed to not masterbating often... it really wasnt a big deal, its not like I've been fighting with myself to not masterbate, I just don't get the urge like I used too... which is somewhat odd since I have alot of protein in my diet and I was always told protein makes you for lack of a better term, hornier.

Any more advice would be appreciated, but thanks for the help HotRod

Andy: Sounds like you may be doing too much (which may be hard to believe, I know), but try cutting back to 1 on, 2 off for a 1 to 2 weeks once you get your morning wood back -- then gradually increase from there until your PIs go negative.

You may also want to have a look at this thread: http://www.pegym.com/forums/general-...explained.html

Hope this helps!

Thanks Remek, I've gotten morning wood two days in a row now... today being my second day of my 2 days on, 1 day off routine... if I don't get wood tomorrow morning, I'll switch to 1 day on 2 days off.
