Penis Size: Mean vs. Mode

Average penis size is often stated as 5.5 to 6 inches or whatever.

But what that is telling us is that if you take a sample of penis measurements, say 100 men, add up the total inches and divide by 100, you get the average, also known as the mean.

But this doesn't tell us what the most common penis size is, and I think this is what most men want to know. This is known as the mode.

It would actually answer the question of how we compare to most other men and how women would be likely to be comparing us to other men they have been with.

Has the mode for penis size in the general population ever been calculated?

The average (mean) is not a very useful figure. A large number of men in the sample with 8 inches or more would throw the average higher than most men's measurements. A large number of men in the sample with 4 inches or less would throw the result in the other direction.

Is that BPEL? I have a hard time believing the stats...Maybe I am reading this wrong but if one was to have a 7.5 inch dick you would be bigger than 97.7% of all men??? What is everyone's take on this? Iguana...I appreciate the information and hell, I hope its true

Today everyone has access to porn, this is what drives the wanting a bigger unit machine. Everyone see's Mr. Bigdong and believes 90% of the world is like that. Camera angles and lenses can work wonders with a 6.5" unit. However, yes, 7.5" is big.

Mode gives a true representation of a smaller quantity of samples from a large group. Averaging a smaller sample could be inaccurate if it had a few very large or small numbers mixed with a true average number. But that was still very interesting to see the results of that large of a group sampled. It most likely is accurate.
