how to properly measure the unit

Is the measurement different when we sit or stand?Bcoz when i sit my penis looks huge but when i stand it kind of shortens.

I've heard other guys say that there is a difference when sitting or standing. I measure while sitting. Which ever way you do it, just measure that way each time to stay consistent.
