quick question, is the kegel pretty much clenching of your butt cheeks?

Weclome, tl24! Good to have you with us.

No, the kegel is making your penis move without touching it, another way is stopping your pee midstream. I suggest the first method, but the second one works if you want to know which muscle is involved - I wouldn't do it often, though, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

but by doing this it subconciously clenches your butt cheeks right?

At first it does, but once you identify the muscle it becomes easier to flex just that muscle alone. It doesn't feel like much at first, but believe me that muscle gets strong quickly.
