pwrtl is an unknown at this point
Default "intensity" vs duration in workouts

One of the ideas expressed in the book is that the "intensity" of the exercises should be increased to stimulate further development.
The beginner routines, however, indicate only two things: longer and more frequent workouts.

For athletic performance, one can spend two hours lifting weights and never push oneself to the limit, or blast the body in minutes, if not seconds with only a couple of sets. So, which workout was more intense? Obviously the latter.
Of course, one must be careful not to injure oneself and allow for adequate rest between workouts, whether it is one's penis or one's biceps...

My question, is extending the time of training really beneficial? Or, is it better to increase (real) intensity. As this is done though, I would expect longer rest between workouts to be necessary. Someone familiar with HIT fitness training principles (or, "ideology", to some) would understand where I am coming from.

Pwrtl Welcome to the gym!

I've discussed some of these principles before also.
My current take on it is very intense work (it the Mentzer HIT style) is not that beneficial to PE. That amount of trauma would take significant recovery. If ever I stretch very intensly, even for just 10 reps of 30 secs, I really turtle up (well I did last time I tried it!). Perhaps when your penis is very conditioned it may work better, but then some argue it is not a good idea to condition your penis, and thats why they take decon breaks. I personally prefer lighter PE and fewer rest days, but still getting some rest days even then. I suppose each individual will repsond differently, this is where PI's can help, but even then some decide that they like to push into the turtling zone, while others avoid it.
I would always start by adding abit more volume first, and if and when you decide when you want to use more force, always add it gradually and make sure your doing no harm. Be careful with high intensity erect work btw!!

I am still trying to workout how much rest is requried. There are those who grow by PEing almost everyday but with less force and duration. Obviously this is where PE starts moving away from the familair bodybuilding territory, few work their bicepts every day, but if you did, you would have to reduce the intensity and/or number of sets...I guess its the same in PE!

Also, I feel that HIT can have its limits in natural bodybuilding, especially for the ectomorph, I am a believer that lighter workouts with abit more volume can also build muscle, its all about listening to your own body and staying within the bounds of ones recovery abilities!

Good to have another bodybuilder amoung us!
