Hello all! I figured I would say Hello after months of lurking in the shadows. I started PE in early August 2009, but quickly....TOO quickly, advanced myself. I was the poster child of "too much, too quick." Within 4 weeks I was hanging and clamping. Hard to believe that I never injured myself. At the same time, I had no positive gains to mention. I have been reading much of the theory and success stories from the senior and no-so-senior members here. I took a few weeks off in order to de-condition myself and started again last week. I am following the 90 day routine and kegaling in my spare time. I plan on taking it slow this time and not ruining the whole program for the "quick monster-like gains" that elude the vast majority of us! Best of luck to the rest of you. My present stats are BPEL: 6"; EG: 4.35" (November 8, 2009) Short-Term Goal: BPEL: 7"; EG: 5" Long-Term Goal: BPEL 8"; EG: 5.5" |

I think you’ll find the slow, steady, and more patient philosophy on PE to be much more successful and pain/hassle-free. But congratulations on realizing where you messed-up, taking the proper time off to de-condition (and heal any damage that you may have caused), and coming back with a better attitude. The key for you will be sticking to this newly found philosophy and not wavering from it in the event you get caught up in the “more is more is more is more” phenomenon. Good luck in your journey. It would do you a world of good to start a progress log here at the PE Gym where you can follow your own progress and let this great community guide you along the way.

Hey welcome back! It's good to see that you've discovered what many ignore. I'll say this for the sake of anyone else who happens to go overboard that may read this thread: in most cases less is more. Just stick to the routine you're on now, give yourself those three months of conditioning before you try anything like hanging again!

Thanks for the positive comments and advice. I am now a believer in the "less is more" philosophy. The gains will come, through hard work and dedication, not overwork and carelessness. I really hope that others just starting out or those who are looking for that quick fix, really heed the advice that the vets give here - slow and steady wins the race. I'm definitely listening. I think I'll head over to look at the progress logs now. Thanks again. |
