Until recently, I had been PEing fairly rigorously (4-5 days per week, doing both stretches and jelqs, in addition to lengthy edging sessions). All of my PIs were good; I was seeing some growth; and my sexual performance was normal. However, in the last four days, I've been experiencing some penile discomfort. Here are my symptoms: (i) a 'sense' of needing to ejaculate, (ii) increased frequency of urination, (iii) decreased EQ, (iv) a harder flaccid state (though this fluctuates), (v) ejaculation before becoming maximally erect, (vi) fewer spontaneous erections, and (vii) penile tenderness. I haven't PEed since these symtoms started, nor have I had sex (I've been quietly avoiding opportunities). However, I have masturbated twice. Both times I temporarily felt better afterwards, though, again, I came before I became truly hard (I'm used to an EQ of 9-10), which worries me. I think it's pretty clear that something is "off" here, but what? My concern is that I've developed prostatatis from excessive PEing, particularly from the edging. Is that possible/common? Any other possibilities? Needless to say, I'd also greatly appreciate any advice about how to deal with this issue (home/herbal remedies, etc.). My hope is that it'll go away soon, but, of course, I worry that I've done some sort of serious damage. Thanks for your input. |

YES - I have experienced what you are talking about - ejaculating before reaching max hardness (i.e. much much too soon). This doesn't sound like an injury. Here is what you should incorporate if the problem persists: 1. Work on your kegels every other day. But don't overwork them! 2. Be more aware of your kegels while you stimulate yourself and experience pleasure - sometimes kegels lead you right over the PONR! 2. DO EDGING! approach the PONR without ejaculating for months and months and months. This WILL help |

Thanks for the response. I can see why it seems like premature ejaculation. I've never dealt with that problem before, so I state my ignorance in advance. However, I always thought premature ejaculation was more of an issue in sex rather than in masturbation. In any case, I haven't had sex since my symptoms began, but, when I've masturbated, I've come very quickly--almost like I'm "ready" without needing an erection. Four of your symptoms stick out and do relate to a possible enlarging of the prostate gland. Sensation of needing to ejaculate, urination frequency , ejaculation without a full erection and relief after ejaculation. Saw Palmetto is one of the best supplements for good prostate health. Cut back on the edging, because it encourages semen and testosterone production which in effect can cause the prostate to enlarge. You have to "Release that pressure". You can't keep building up semenal pressure without adverse affect on the prostate. Ejaculation should help relieve pressure and the faster the better while you are experiencing these symptoms. Get on some Saw Palmetto and stop edging for a while. The saw palmetto will counter the effects of the extra testosterone produced and hopefully allow it to relax back to normal size. There is also the chance that you have prostatic problems that are not related to PE so you might want to schedule a doctor's visit also especially if you are over 30.

Thanks for the advice, Phibbyshammer. I think (and fear) you're right. Wow, I wish I would've anticipated this situation. Things were normal, and then, after a PE session last week, I started experiencing these symptoms. Hopefully the Saw Palmetto will help.

I take saw palmetto daily. I'm 46 so the prostate has been a concern for me for a few years now, especially since my Father was diagnosed with Prostate cancer in his early 60s. Testosterone like anything else in far too great of quantities is a problem, especially for the prostate. I encourage all to read up and become familiar with it because it is the largest health risks we men have. Good Luck Best of health!!

Pygeum is also very good for the prostate as well. I think you can buy a Saw Palmetto complex that has Pygeum in it. You might notice an increase in your love juice while you're at it. Pygeum has been known to have that effect.
