Default Sorry, another Kegel Q

EDIT: (Sorry, wrong section >< can it be moved?)

Hey guys, im new here and started my routine this morning. It all went good, hopefully i did it corrent. Anyways, down to my question.

When i attempt to peform a kegel, i can contract it. But then if i try and hold it, it would just return to as it was, even if i try with all my might to hold it, nothing seems to hold it contracted.

Is this normal? Am i doing it wrong? Any advice?

Also to add, i read about kegel exercises long ago (few years). I didn't peform them regulary and i always try and do the start/ stop everytime i goto the bathroom and have been doing on/ off, for the past few years.

Cheers in advance.

build your way up slowly. my PC muscle was incredibly weak when I first started exercising it, set a goal for 30-50 small contractions every OTHER day and after a few weeks you should be able to contract longer and for more reps. As far as start/stopping during urination I think it is a good way to locate the PC muscle but I don't think is the smartest way to exercise it. Urinary tract infections are a most common side effect of overdoing the pee workout.

Zorgon, as LastLaugh says, you'll want to slowly build up your PC muscle slowly. It's normal to not be able to hold the contraction long, and in a way it's a good thing - you have lots of room to improve.

I always recommend doing your kegels, some people think they're very unimportant but in all actuality they're extremely beneficial to your overall PE fitness.
