Default Vasectomy and PE

I'm having a vasectomy next Friday. Finally! I can't wait to get this done. I'm also cryopreserving my semen in the unlikely incidence that I will want to have children. I'm 40.

Has anyone else had a vasectomy and continued PE?

My plan is to take it really really lightly between now and next Friday, and then to take at least a week, maybe two before I start PE again.

I'm a bare beginner at this anyway so it shouldn't interfere with my progress much - from what I've read this break may be healthy in the long run.

HotRod, I had a vasectomy about 2 years ago and started PE a few months later. It heals up rather quickly so you should have no problems.

Hey, Iguana.

Friday is the day.

Were you nervous before yours? I'm starting to worry a little bit. I've known many men who have had this done. It's still a little weird having something so personal and powerful altered. But I decided that it was the wisest choice. I can still have children someday because I have banked my sperm. It's just weird thinking about having somebody cut into my body (I'm having the no scalpel technique done) and snip out pieces of my body. I just keep thinking that the ultimate peace of mind is going to far exceed the squeamishness I'm feeling of late.

Rod, so Fridays is the day! Yea, I was actually a little nervous before too. I also had the no scalpel technique. It's really very minor surgery. It only takes about 15 or 20 minutes. After a couple weeks I couldn't even tell where the incision was. I couldn't find it today if I had to. I had an adult circumcision a few years ago. This was a picnic compared to that. And it wasn't really that bad. I tried to get the Doc to give me something to keep the swelling from going down.

Good idea banking your sperm. It's really nice not to have to worry about slipping up and having an unplanned child. You will still have use some kind of birth control for a 2 or 3 months after to make sure you don't have any left over swimmers hiding out. They will explain it all to you. You are absolutely correct, the peace of mind out weights the reservations 100 to 1.

I hope everything goes well. We will expect a full report on Monday!

Take Care,

Iguana

Hey, thanks Iguana.

Wow. An adult circumcision. I'm curious what prompted that. Have you noticed any difference in the feel during sex. Is it better? Any lost sensations?

I was circumcised at birth and I was reading about foreskin restoration a while back, so this is a topic that interests me too.

You know I'm actually not to sure what prompted that. I think it was a moment of insanity.
Na, actually, I did it for mostly for hygiene and looks. I don't notice any difference in sensation at all now.
It was VERY sensitive for the first couple months. Now it's about the same as before. I really like it much
better than being uncut. I would recommend it to anyone.

So, tomorrows the big day! How's the nerves?

Hey Iguana. Thanks for that info on the circ.

Well, it's done. I'm sitting here with an ice bag on my balls.

I had to wait forever for the doctor which made me really nervous. I was thinking, "Geeze! Are they even ready for me?" I waited 50 minutes before I actually saw the guy. So he walked in an thankfully apologized profusely. I told him that the wait had made me nervous (the truth is I was starting to feel sick), but now that I understood what had been going on in his day I was fine. I decided I could be a good sport.

He did the no-scalpel technique. That first blast of lidocaine had my toes all aflutter. It was probably about like a bee sting but quickly subsiding. Then he tested me by jabbing me with something. I felt absolutely nothing - accept some pressure on my right testicle. He said that was because he was gripping my right vas deferens and was normal.

Then there was a lot of clamping and cutting and other business that I didn't see. We had an upbeat conversation through most of the procedure. Finally he cauterized the ends of the vas deferens. I saw smoke rising. It smelled sort of like burnt hair.

He went through the same procedure on the left side. I didn't pay too close attention to the time. It probably took something like 35 minutes from the time he walked in the room.

He said it was a text book procedure, that everything went very smoothly.

So I'm sitting here on ice. That's the plan for the rest of the day. Ice, rest, and maybe some hydrocodone if the pain gets worse. Mostly I just have some minor aching in my testicles which is made worse by some sort of bowel irritation. It's hard to tell just what the discomfort is at this point - bowels or balls.

For entertainment I'll be watching Gone with the Wind which I have never seen and feel like I should, and Dario Argento's Suspiria which I have always wanted to see. I thought that would be a good double feature.

There's a small puncture mark, and there was a blood mark on the gauze when I got home. The bleeding stopped as far as I can tell. I'm sure it will heal nicely.

Over all I would say that my emotional state is happy. I'm really glad I got this done. I was sweating a little last night - sort of doing the obligatory self-torture by internal devil's advocate. But I weighed everything against the realities of an unwanted pregnancy, the cost of having children, and the fact that I can still have children because I banked my sperm. It was easy to get in the car and drive down there this morning.

I'll probably be getting back to PE after about a week.

Thanks,
Rod

Rod, I guess congratulations are in order!!!

I chuckled a few times reading your post. Especially about the conversation with the doctor. There's something funny I wanted to share with you before your procedure but I was afraid of spooking you. They had to knock my butt out! I was unconscious for the entire thing! He did the lidocaine thing and like you, I felt the sting. But as soon as he attempted to poke me, It felt like Hercules had grabbed my testicle. I almost came off the table. I involuntarily grabbed his arm and he freaked out. He had to go rewash and was not too happy about it. He was like "knock him out." So, unfortunately I missed the smoke and smell of burned flesh.

I went thought the same thing with the ice bag and the hydrocodone. When I whined about the discomfort, my wife said, "men are such babies. You should try giving birth."

I'm glad you survived. Try to lay off the jelqing for a few weeks. Now you get the fun of taking in "specimens."
