Default Irritated and less sensitive to touch Penis

I just started Penis exericising and have had irritation from the very first exercise. I have followed the book's recommended warm-up, and beginners exercises. I have used the recommeded lubricants, Vaseline and Baby Oil with vitamin E but I am still having irritable affects and I'm just not sure if I should continue. It seems that my penis is irritated but with no significant visual abbrasions or such. My penis is now less sensitive to touch making it less arouseable. Is this irritation normal and if so will this likely get better quickly? Does penis exercising cause a lack of sensation over time?

I would appreciate any advice and please note that my first priority is to keep my penis feeling the same as before the first exercise and anything added to that would be a bonus.

Thanks for your comments,

JH

Jeff: Welcome to The PE Gym!

You've already started analyzing the problem, which is the first thing to do.

Now, let's try to pinpoint exactly what's happening. What do you mean by "irritated"? Does it look red, like a rash, or what? You might be on the right track with thinking the lubricant could be the problem. You might want to try a different lubricant, such as Astroglide (which is water based, unlike the two you're using now).

In the meantime, though, take a break until everything returns to normal. This may take a few days.

As for the question: "Does penis exercising cause a lack of sensation over time?" No, not if you do it right. In fact, many men report that it increases sensitivity overtime. With that in mind, you must be doing something wrong. Go over some of the tips in the book again, particularly:
  • Use very very (again, very!) light intensity at first. Gentle tugs and gentle jelq strokes.
  • Don't jelq, stretch, or grab the head.
  • Avoid putting any pressure on the top part of your penis, as that is where the dorsal nerves are.
Also, you may want to try the Progressive Routine (outlined in the book) first. It's light intensity, so it will allow you to "get the hang" of everything before going further.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the reply.

I have a slight redness and the pain is more toward the base of the head as perhaps too much pressure was applied. It did not seem as though it would have been but perhaps your suggestions to lighten up the intensity may be the cure. I did use the astroglide on the 2nd exercise. I'll re-read the pages you mentioned and give it time to get back to normal before starting again.

Thanks again for the reply.

Jeff: Glad I could help. I hope lightening up the intensity works. I think it will.

I'm surprised Astroglide caused irritation too. Does your body tend to have weird, allergic-type reactions to stuff like that?

What was your erection percentage while you jelqed? As remek said, go slow and use a VERY light grip. Stop about a half inch up shaft just before you reach the head for good measure.

Also, I would go to a Sex Store to get some real lube. Most sex lube is water based, hypo-allergenic, non-staining and long lasting. It is less irritating than other household lubricants.

Yeah, I am pretty sensitive to many chemicals etc.. however, it may be the intensity or both. I'll lighten up and try some other lubricants. Thanks again!

At times the erection percentage was higher than suggested and I did jelq up to the head so this could be part of the problem. Thanks for your suggestions as it is much appreciated. I have taken note and will attempt the lighter approach next time.

Thanks again!

Jeff: Don't forget to try what quik suggested: going to the sex store and getting more lubes that are sensitive on the skin. That's probably a big part of your problem (along with too much intensity).
