WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal health officials are examining rare reports of blindness among some men using the impotence drugs Viagra and Cialis, a disclosure that comes at a time when the drug industry can ill afford negative publicity about another class of blockbuster medicines.


The Food and Drug Administration still is investigating, but has no evidence yet that the drug is to blame, said spokeswoman Susan Cruzan.
This type of blindness is called NAION, or non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. It can occur in men who are diabetic or have heart disease, the same conditions that can cause impotence and thus lead to Viagra use.

The FDA has 42 reports of the blindness, 38 among users of Viagra and four among users of Cialis. There were no cases reported among users of Levitra, the third impotence drug.

I have heard from some people that they experienced blurred vision and everything appearing greenish for 2 to 3 weeks. I know that cases of vision impairment have been reported with viagra and I think it is only a matter of time that it will get recognizes as one of the side effect which could affect some people, of course not all, because none were found in different trials carried out. It is not unusual to find a rather uncommon side effect after a medication has been used by a vast number of people over a significant period.
Viagra does help in increasing blood circulation in the penis but like all other medications have some side effects which one should be aware of before using it.

Soody: Is that one of the side effects listed on the bottle? That's just nuts.

If you ask me, I think Viagra sales and such are going to decrease once PE hits mainstream. The benefits of PE outweigh Viagra, and the side effects of Viagra outweigh PE.

I have been taking Viagra for 2 years and haven't had any side effects.

Most of the people do not have side effects from viagra. A person informed me last year that he sold viagra in India and some people reported that they had blurred vision everything appeared greenish. This cleared in three weeks.
Many times it happens that list of the side effects mentioned by the company increases with time as new side effects get reported and eventually identified as linked with the drug rather than by chance occurence.
PE is a totally different thing. Viagra can not achieve what PE can. Though Viagra is used more widely than what it actually meant for. It was meant for people with erectile dysfuction resulting from damage to the nerves and blood vessels from diseases such as longstanding Diabetes. It was not meant according to it's licencing use to be used to get a stronger erection etc.

If you do not mind dustpan what have you been using it for? To enhance gains from PE? If so have you found it helpful?

Though my search I am convienced that PE works. Now I have to experience it. At this stage I am exploring if anything else combined with it can give me more gains. So far I have not come to any conclusion yet but I no would like to have the gains whether with PE alone or combined with something. To me for selfish reasons result is more important whether with PE alone or combined with something. I know without PE I am not likely to have success. I am convinced about PE after understanding how it is likely to work.

Visual disturbances with Viagra and cialis and occasionally blindness has been recognised and is mentioned in the product data sheets by the manufacturers, at least in Britain.

Interesting. . . Do you happen to have a list of the common side effects caused by Viagra?

yes. I do. what do you want me to do with it?

I use the viagra for one purpose only, to maintain an erection durring sex, which it does what it was meant to do. It might have helped my PE gains some, but I am not sure about that.
