i participated in an operation santa thingy. basically you make a box of things(whether for a boy or girl-then specify). i put in a deodarant stick. a couple pairs of plairs. Two pairs of socks. and a swiss army knife i never use lol. The box you make is sent to a third world country and makes some kids day on Christmas(i chose a boy)

i collect for a local kids charity on my spare days... donated £5 to my local hospice today, then another £3 something to the rainbow trust, last christmas i provided laptop computers for two disabled children for school, this christmas im raising money to pay for a special trike and a £3000 wheel chair "before christmas"....

friday i was offered by an autistic kid about 20yo (with the mind ot a 3yo), to hug his fireman sam teddy, i had to oblige... hugged his teddy and watched his face light up when i hugged it, he walked away saying "thank you sam for hugging the man" it was the cutest thing ever... the same day was when the charity i was collecting for's chairman, was verbally attacked by a woman who was the mother of an ill child who needed £50 to complete the funds they needed for a crash pad.... the chairman put his hand in his pocket wrote out a cheque and handed it over.... the woman almost feinted and her husband was so shocked he almost cried.

my kids and i rarely pass someone who needs help without giving something. the times we dont give is when we ourselves have nothing to donate.

i couldnt donate anything to the local food court as im not sure there is one in my area and ive never heard of one in england.

i do a lot for chaity and the needy just in general, its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice.

i dont want rep points... i just wanted to share some of what i do for others.

I'm in debt. I don't know if I can afford rent this month. Student loan services didn't give me money this year because of a small problem. I missed all of my bursary/grant application deadlines because I use a mac (applying for them doesn't work on a mac, for w/e reason) and didn't figure it out in time. My parents are both out of jobs and welfare doesn't give to students. My credit card is maxed.

We all have our boo-hoo sob stories. I still dropped in 7 or 8 dollars for food.
I also like participating in charity runs. I can't usually afford the entry fee, so what I do is I get two or three jars and go to local doctor's offices and ask them to keep them on the front desk. I use that money to pay my way in to the charity run and donate the rest.

Oh, and this girl I'm seeing saw a homeless woman with a young dog and cat. She went to the nearest corner store, bought food for them and gave it to the homeless lady.

If everyone helped each other, then we wouldn't have need... right?
So c'mon. Give FIVE dollars. If a broke-ass motherfucker like myself can do it, you guys can!

Quick story about why I have been hesitant to hand out money to "bums" in NYC. This happened a month or two ago. I was in Subway and the guy to my immediate left (closer to the register) asked if I had some change. I assumed he was short money so I gave him a dollar, said "here you go man just take a dollar." He then turned around and left Subway...and I realized he was not trying to pay for his food but was just looking for a bit of money. Whatever - not a huge deal, though I felt somewhat misled - but then the asshole behind the counter started screaming at me for giving money to the needy in his store because he said it might attract more of them. I told him to fuck himself and obviously left the store without buying the sandwich that they were in the middle of making for me, but the situation left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't know...since then I have just avoided eye contact.

Cusp has the most rep points on site then Batwoman. Pirate is up there so is Tink. The big mover is Islander at number 10 position. The strangest omission from the top 10 imo is Kingpole who for years was the leading poster on this site ,has started many great threads and been a friend to pe in general and within this site in particular.

another thing ive done the last few days... gave a kid some change who didnt have enough to buy his candy in a store i was in.... he needed 10p but i gave him about 80 lol... it really was no use to me.. it made the kid smile so. bonus.
