I'm a thread posting rampage, partially because I'm a bit down right now. I just recently started searching for symptoms of low testosterone, and shockingly I fit nearly all of the symptoms listed here (not the strength and height one): http://www.thefactsaboutfitness.com/research/test.htm So I started searching for ways to improve my testosterone. The first thing on a list of "Natural Ways to Increase Your Testosterone" was to get more Zinc in your diet. I then looked at a strength and nutrition forum where a male had posted he had low testosterone. A senior member responded saying "Many males that are athletic have a low zinc count, which in turn lowers their testosterone". This all of a sudden clicked with me...when I was a little kid, around elementary school, I was placed on special Zinc tablets. Apparently, during a normal check-up where blood work was taken, I was found to have very low zinc levels. I was never taken off the pills, I just stopped taking them. Could this be the cause for a lot of EQ issues and my lack of a sex drive? EDIT: Correction, it was a moderate-to-low level of zinc and a very low level of iron. Just talked to my parents. Could be stress from school too. I usually find working out reliefs my stress and boosts my testosterone naturally. So you could try that if you can find time.

There is a taste test for zinc deficincy often given at the chemist or health food shop. Yes low zinc can cause problems. Do you eat seafood, oysters etc? |

Zinc is very often overlooked when concerns of testosterone come up. Zinc is essential for proper functioning of the hpta. Zince is also a very powerful AI.

I would start supplementing with zinc right away as well as iron. A multi vitamin with iron would not hurt either. Start eating beef, beef raises DHT. Also, pasta raises DHT as well as potatoes.

If your going to take a Zinc supplement I would recommend ZMA (Original SNAC formula, avoid the copy cats as all the research has been done on the SNAC). It has really improved my own life with increased T levels and Sex drive. And because I do Warrior diet I would recommend my fellow warriors to take the supplement in the morning rather than in the evening since we only eat nocturnal. ZMA FTW! |

Yup, I had been looking at ZMA to help me out and I went out and bought some at GNC today...it wasn't SNAC however, the only kind they had was the GNC brand (convenient, huh?)

Yup, will do! I'm already skeptical of it because ZMA is supposed to help you sleep, and so far I still have awful sleeping patterns. I typically sleep for four hours before I just "snap" totally awake and alert...it's like my body does not want to go into REM sleep or something!
