Strength exercises build core strength and muscle so your waist can get thicker ,from muscle as well as fat.
The big lifts do take a lot out of you. How is your r-cuff?
How is the lifting going?
I was lucky with the powerlifts, there were powerlifters in the gym I started at. The olympic lifts are more technical and speed is a big deal. I have done power cleans,power press and power snatch a fair bit in the past, but my shoulder is playing up a bit now.
I take it you have done some work to strengthen your r-cuff before going into these? Some shoulder flesibility is also required.
Work the weight up over time.

i am slowly geting back on track. Was just chating with blink ,about the advantages of the various forms of training out there now. Used to talk with downlow a lot about training also, suppose it all helps.
Do you still swim?

Was asking my partner if spruick is an australianism(word used mainly in australia), we are not sure.
Anyway to spruick is to say something is good, to build it up, often with sales in mind.
The word seems in less common use in recent years
I see stillwamntmore is spruicking the advantages of roids etc.
