I'm injecting IGF-1 LR3. IGF is Insulin-like Growth Factor. It's the hormone that triggers cellular mitosis. It's not the same as HGH (human growth hormone) but acts in a similar way. HGH is actually metabolized by the liver, the liver then produces IGF-1. IGF-1 LR3 is a modified version of IGF-1 which substitutes an Arg for the Glu at position 3, as well as a 13 amino acid extension peptide at the N-terminus. This makes Long R3IGF-I significantly more potent (2-3x) than natural IGF-1.

IGF-1 builds new muscle tissue by promoting nitrogen retention and protein synthesis. This causes the growth of muscles through both hyperplasia (which is an increase in number of muscle cells) and mitogenesis (which is the actual growth of new muscle fibers). Thus IGF-1 not only makes muscle fibers bigger, it makes more of them as well! The great thing is that it binds to smooth muscle cells (found in the penis) in the same manner it binds to skeletal muscle cells.

To answer you question about injecting growth hormone into your penis just once, - nothing would happen. The growth process is slow (were dealing with microscopic cells here) and must be repeated over and over before growth is noticeable. I should start seeing girth gains in about 4-6 weeks. I'll keep you updated.

Iguana: thanks for the information. I see, IGF-1 should be the way to go hoping you achieve the desired results. I wander how many injections altogether, say a two month course?
What I also meant was where exactly on the penis do you inject? Some pics and diagrams to go with your descriptions would be nice.

I am injecting 3 times a week, so 2 months would be about 24 injections.



WARNING TO LURKERS and anyone else thinking of attempting this: I can't say this enough, if anyone gets the idea to inject Caverject or any other vasodilator, self-dosing can send you to the ER! Education yourself throughly before attempting any of these methods. It is strongly advised to use Caverject under the supervision of a physician. An untreated priapism can cause you to loose your penis!

IGF-1 Studies:

If you are considering IGF-1 these are definitely worth a read!

Aim. To investigate whether intracavernosal injection of IGF-1 protein can restore erectile function in the aging rat.

Results. After IGF-1 treatment, the ICP responses was significantly increased as the young control group in both the IGF-1 1 µg/kg and the IGF-1 10 µg/kg group compared with the vehicle-only group at 4 and 8 weeks (P < 0.05). Masson's trichrom staining showed the percentage of cavernosal smooth muscle was increased in IGF-1 treatment group. IGF-1 increased e-NOS expression. NOS activities and cGMP concentrations were also significantly increased in IGF-1 treatment rats.

Conclusions. IGF-1 improved erectile function in aged rats via restoration the integrity of smooth muscle of corpus cavernosum and modulation of NO-cGMP pathways. I may have posted an exerpt from this study earlier. I ran across it again and wanted to re-post because this is such a definitive study. This was not done on rats, this was done on cultures of human corpus cavernosa smooth muscle cells. This pretty much says it all. IGF-1 does in fact increase smooth muscle cells.

PURPOSE: Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) promotes the proliferation and migration of penile cavernous smooth muscle cells in the rat. The goals of this study were to evaluate the expression of IGF-1 and IGF-1 receptor (IGF-1R) in human corpus cavernosal smooth muscle cells (HCCSMCs) and to investigate the effect of IGF-1 on the proliferation of these cells in vitro. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The HCCSMCs were cultured from five impotent patients. The smooth muscle cells were identified by immunofluorescent stain. Total RNA was extracted, and IGF-1 gene expression was determined by RT-PCR. The IGF-1R immunoreactivity was examined by fluorescent Immunocytochemistry. Cell growth was assessed with a novel proliferation assay based on bioreduction of the fluorescent dye, Alamar blue. RESULTS: Endogenous IGF-1 mRNA expression was detected by RT-PCR analysis. The HCCSMCs were positive for IGF-IR. The proliferation of HCCSMCs increased with the dose in response IGF-1 in the culture medium in concentrations up to 100 ng/ml. CONCLUSIONS: Both IGF-1 and IGF-1R are expressed endogenously in human corpus cavernosal smooth muscle cells. IGF-1 promotes the proliferation of these cells in vitro.
