I'm not sure how you can say this with such certainty. Running is a totally safe and normal thing that millions of Americans do each day, but one wrong step and you can be left with a torn ACL.
It's very strange to me how modern medicine frowns on PE - I'm sure the reasons seem logical to medical practitioners - the only guys a doctor is going to see in his/her office are injured patients! (it's not like someone who safely practices PE is ever going to be known to most GPs). But that's also what they see in there office from people who injure themselves jogging but they don't call for a ban on jogging now do they?
GPs and Urologists are really just very well educated technicians. They are not scientists in the classic sense of the word. A scientist would suspend judgement on anything they don't have clear proof of. Doctors are so used to prognosticating that they do so even when they shouldn't.
