Hi there, I am a 30 year old male who is in excellent health. I was having some fairly rough sex with my girlfriend about 4 months ago. I was behind her and she bucked back as I was thrusting forward and it happened quickly so it's difficult to say what exactly happened. My penis bent somehow from the base. I believe I damaged or tore my penile suspensory ligament. There was no major bruising (maybe some extremely light bruising which is barely noticeable and now gone). I am still able to get erections but maintaining them without constant stimulation is difficult and I would say I'm only at about 75% of normal function. I went to see my family doctor about it roughly a month after it happened and he said there isn't much point to seeing a urologist because I am still able to get erections. He said it's mostly like a sprain and will take 4-6 weeks to heal. I still have some discomfort 80% of the time especially when sitting and only don't notice it when I get an erection. I have had sex many times since this occurence as well as masturbated frequently. I don't actually notice the discomfort when I'm erect. My questions are:
- Should I refrain from any sexual activity until the pain subsides, including masturbation and oral sex?
- Is there anything I can take or do to speed up the healing process that's safe? (like exercises or herbs or special diet)
- Has anyone else suffered the same type of injury?
- How long does it typically take to heal?
- Will I recover to my full capabilities or will my erection strength and/or duration decline?
- Would this be a tear or some type of stretching damage? How would I know the difference?
- Is there a reliable and successful surgery for this?
- Any other information you can provide regarding the situation would be greatly appreciated.
Please help me out with this, I am quite discouraged about the damage that may have occurred and I'm asking lots of questions to try and figure out my situation and the best course of action to take. Thank you for all replies.
