I am recently finding that hanging with my captain's wrench, that there is always pressure built up at the head, when hanging at around 6kg. I usually find that I have to release the clamp to release the tension then re-clamp. Basically do any of you fellow hangers have a solution to this problem? Cheers

hg5, I moved the thread into the manually assisted PE forum. It will get more views here. ![]() About your question: Where do you put the clamp? Perhaps the clamp is too close to the head. Another thing it might be is the wrapping. You might be wrapping too tight -- or maybe even not tight enough. Perhaps some other hangers can chime in here. |

Remek, The cable clamp is about 1/2 inch under the glans, it is pretty close, but seemed to be the best option for me being uncut. Any lower, the hanger would slide off. Possibly the clamp may not have been tight enough, but does become very uncomfortable after 20 mins of hanging. I really think that I am better off with a better quality hanger. With the revolution of the vac-hanger I wonder if these hangers can truely handle serious weight? as opposed to the classic bib hanger. Cheers |

Hg5, You might want to try moving it a little further up the shaft, towards the base. Then again, a good quality hanger is definitely a useful tool to have in the arsenal. The Bib Hanger and the vac-hanger both have good reviews. Dustpan, a moderator here, has found a cheap way to safely hang high weight. He uses a dog muzzle, and has nearly reached 60 lbs with it. |

The hanger that I use is very simple, as remek said I have used a hanger that you can buy in a pet store. the hanger is a muzzle that is use on dogs to stop them from bitting. The muzzle is about $10.- $13. each, they come in different sizes. If you want more information pm me.

That Captain's Wench is what I started out with and I didn't find very user freindly. I started out hanging with 10 lbs and after 5 minutes of use I started to get sore from it. I tryed different methods wraping but no good so that is why I begain looking into another type of hanger. This hanger that I use is very good for hanging any amount of weight that you want.

hg5, If you do get this, you'll have to find one that is close to your girth. You don't want to have it big or to small. The next thing that you'll need will be some kind of hook to hang from the strap. The rope that I use for hanging the weights is a 3/8" polypropylene rope, then I found a metal 1." dia. clothes closet rod and cut it down to 10.", drilled a hole through one end, and put a bolt through that end. With the rope I cut it 18." long, then melted both end to a point so I could feed the end back into it self so you have a loop on each end. Then you feed the rope down through the center of the rod, then you slide the bolt out enough to catch the looped end, then slide the bolt back through again. Now you are ready to stack your weights.
