I was just reading a forum about hair on the shaft, and someone said you werent suppose to shave it because of the possibility of ingrown hairs? is this true? because i shave the hair on my shaft, and i have little black dots on both sides of the shaft.. are those ingrown hairs?

Don't shave against the grain of the hair. Shave either with or parallel to the grain and you won't (shouldn't) get ingrown hairs, use shaving foam/gel, splash cold water on the area once finished, pat (don't rub) dry and apply mouisturiser.

Farewell ingrown hairs and shaving rash.

I use a Philips Norelco Body Groomer which was designed specifically for this area. I found it on line for about $20 plus shipping ($7?). Been using for over a year without any problems. I also recently tried Magic Razerless Cream Shave (Walmart $3) intended to maintain bald heads. I've used it three times without a problem.
