I would think that calling an 8" by 6" penis average shows a lack of respect , but it has been suggested this is not so.
Note this does not deal with if it is a deliberate, just if you feel it shows a lack of respect.
So for instance this may be the first penis she has ever seen, ( lived with Nuns) and she didn't know better.

That's an interesting question. I'm sure this thread is going to go bananas. I would say 8x6 is normal but not average, statistically speaking. It would depend on the context and person posing the assumption, perhaps they don't know the data. In general though, yes. I would feel such an assertion showed a lack of respect and pretty sure most guys would feel the same.

I voted no. I think it more often shows ignorance or lack of interest in size. Sometimes it might be done to push someone off their (cocky) peg or just to hurt them. And what is considered big or small is individual from person to person. And I hope most women don`t think of dicks by set numbers and measurements...

I would suggest that hurting someone is not showing respect but whatever and hey some may consider top1% average.
