    Hi everyone! I'm really excited to get started with a PE routine, to see what sort of gains I can get!
    I want to share the experiences and insights I have here on a regular basis, as a (possibly) helpful reference for other newbies to use.
    I'll update this tomorrow after my first PE session, and then once a week OR whenever there is a new development, good or bad.
    (This commitment will also help hold me to my routine )

    I've decided that I will begin on 7/31/12. I have already been casually doing some kegels for a little over a week, but nothing definite.
    The routine I PLAN to follow, barring complications, is JP's 90 Day Beginner Routine, topped off with some edging after each session, and kegels throughout the day as tolerable.

    I took care of beginning measurements today. The only two I am immediately concerned with are my BPEL (6 7/16", bigger than I expected) and my EG (4 7/8", just about average).
    I don't really have any short-term goals, because my long-term gains goal is relatively humble; I want to strive for about an inch and a half of length gains and less than an inch of girth, for a total of 8"x5.75".


    I will try to hotlink each PE term I use in my posts to keep this log newbie-friendly! I hope it motivates some people to join me in starting a routine and getting some gains! New readers please let me know if I use a term that I don't explain, or if you're a veteran and have any helpful suggestions/see me doing something wrong.

    Day 1 complete!!

    I was only able to get through about half of the jelqing sessions before warming down and calling it, due to what I'm assuming is 'poor planning'.
    Here are some newbie observations:

    -If you aren't PEing in the bathroom or near a faucet, make sure the washcloth water is HOT. I was barely able to get through the warm-up before the water was no better than lukewarm. I want to keep it nice and hot for the next warm-up since that's really important, so I'll bring a bigger bowl and hotter water!

    -I'm gonna go ahead and shave my junk. I'm a 70's bush mountain man down there because it's been years since I've had to worry about it, but I'm going to get all the hair out of the way to make it easier to grip the base/jelq. It gets in the grip and makes it harder for my hands to slide along the shaft properly. I'm hoping that post-shave I'll be able to lubricate the shaft better and thus jelq more effectively. Speaking of lube,

    -I don't think Vaseline is gonna cut it. It did the trick in a pinch, and it's all I had immediately available, but I think I'm gonna shop a good water-based lubricant (as recommended by JP) for my next session. Part of the problem may have been the hair, but I imagine the whole operation will go smoother with a better lube!

    -I had a BIT of a case of the classic newbie jelqing get-hards. I don't think I had it as bad as some people seem to, but once or twice I had to give it a break for 30 seconds to make sure I wasn't too erect.

    -My shaft skin wanted to go up over the glans during the jelqs, as if I had a foreskin (I don't). I'm assuming this is because Vaseline wasn't an effective enough lubricant, so I'll reserve judgment until tomorrow's session. If I have the same problem tomorrow, I'll ask for advice!

    The good news is, there's no discomfort or anything after the session! Since I only really did half a session and a few edges, I should be in shape for some kegeling throughout the evening to make up for it. I'll keep an eye out for any PIs, and report in after tomorrow's session!

    Day 2 complete! I was able to do 2/3 of the workout this time (100 jelqs, 60 v-jelqs).

    More observations:

    -Yeah guys, water-based lube is it. Don't try Vaseline, it doesn't work well enough.
    -Shaving did make the whole ordeal easier, as expected. The shaving ITSELF is a bummer though, and I could feel shaving burns during the warm-up and exercise
    -The better lube made it harder to control my erections during jelqs, but each time I had to cool down I just fit in some more kegels!
    -I got off a few edges at the end of the workout, but I think I may cut those from the workout and do them separately, on my days off. I don't want to overdo it.

    Alright, here are my PIs, and a question or two for anyone willing to help.

    -Slight redness, I know at least partly due to shaving but partly not (neutral)
    -Very slight swelling so far, right after the workout (neutral)
    -VERY slight rigidity in flaccid state, right after the workout here (maybe as if like 10% erect)

    I of course will keep an eye out on my PIs throughout tomorrow, but my question concerns the third listed PI. I've heard the term 'firm flaccid' thrown around, and it sounds pretty bad. Just how firm is a firm flaccid? I feel like the very slight rigidity might be due to the slight post-workout swell, but I'll want to know what to keep an eye out for tomorrow.

    Anyways, I've decided that I'll be doing 2 days on, 1 day off! If I get through some rotations of 2-on-1-off without incident, I'll bump it up to 5-on-2-off!

    Oh man! You will adapt to shaving if you stay on top of it. Hell, your woman loves the shaved thang there (don't lie now, you know she be diggin' it). Keep up the routine knowing that conditioning your penis is the most important thing in safe PE.

    You might try to mix vaseline (just a bit) with olive oil. Olive oil lasts quite a while.
