I definately think everyone should be themselves and be comfortable with who they are. Im not the biggest, strongest, cutest, smartest, richest most athletically gifted..... & I know I never will be. I dont try to be something im not and I am fairly comfortable with who I am and I have fun in life for the most part. I am a very happy person generally and maybe thats what attracts people to me? Not sure. I have never really payed much thought to this subject.

I think this post has miscontrued the entire issue at hand. I am even confused on the matter now. The assertive alpa male might become a CEO or President, he might also end up working in bake shop, or homeless. Success in life requires alot more than character traits. This sort of classification should be beneath humans as it really all has to do with instincts, therefore, it is very important to human mating rites. Look at nature for a guide. Witin any social animal group dominated by an alpha male (wolves, lions, gorillas, etc) the females mostly mate with the alpha and not the other males in the group. That most singles bars opperate on some twisted animal mating dance I do not like myself but reality bites. And trying to convince anyone that a strong assertive man is not more attractive to women is a misguided effort. Women are generally drawn to alpha types and want to sleep with them. The ones they preceive as beta males they will be nice to and friends with. But this is very general and I would recomend looking beyond this post for more information--the web is full of all sorts of crap so whatever you think, you are right!

I think the whole thing is stupid. There is no such thing, don't worry about it.

I get the impression that people who consider themselves to be "alpha" are simply extroverts. It doesn't make them better leaders, and definitely not all leaders are extroverts. Extroverts tend to be talkative and like to socialise a lot. This can make them confident and attractive to some women. These same traits can also be a turn-off to other women though, because it can make a person look cocky.

Based on this post, I'm NOT an alpha male. Based on what the description is, I don't see why any man would want to own up to being one.....it doesn't sound very appealing.

I think those terms are dumb and pointless to try and put people in 2 categories like that..
If someone is shy with their new girlfriend are they considered a beta male, then later when they are comfortable and takes charge etc do they become alpha now?

From tinks list, I guess I dated a lot of betafemales

Not only do I agree with this to the nth degree but when you're a happy, positive person, you attract like minded people to you.........just like a magnet. It's awesome.

To 2009vettez51 & MrBigDick's responses above: confidence, self-assuredness, comfortable in your own skin, genuinely happy with oneself, and projecting a positive outlook on life, all alpha traits. So people will definitey be drawn to any person with these qualities.

Gee that sounds just like me but I wanted to be an omega man. That sounds cool! Or maybe some other letter of the Greek alphabet. Hey do you think since the whole country of Greece is broke that they'll be charging a fee for using their alphabet?

You could take 100 guys who THINK they are alpha males and maybe 5 of them truly are. I am a leader by nature but I do it with encouragement and by building up others, I dont think all alphas are good leaders and therefore one doesnt have to ba Alpha to be a leader.
