hi. im just starting. i seem to have a problem that i cant maintain a any sort of erection when i jelq. it becomes flacid. i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to help me out. ive also read that it has to be semi-erect to warm up, but it just goes away. and to get it back up a little, i have to get out of the shower and watch a little bit of porn to get it back up a bit, and i must say that becomes highly inconvenient. thanks for any help provided. (sorry i posted this in this section. i dont know how to delete it and post it in the beginner's section)

Welcome to the GYM. You can do a few tricks to get what you want. First and most important is to be RELAXED when you go for PE. You can try a good bath, a few minutes lay down(even a few minutes of sleep), music therapy, massage, even hypnosis therapy. Find your own way to relax before PE, then start with the Warm-up. The warm-up can be done fully erect or totally flacid. A good trick to have the erection on the level wanted is to use KEGELS. Let's say that you are jelqing and your erection goes from 50% to 30% you can do a kegel contraction to get that 50% back before you apply your grip for a new rep. For me the most important is relaxation. I try to train when I fell that my body and my penis is relaxed and malleable.

Avoid the porn. It might work now, but it could destroy your ability to get a good erection during intercourse some day. Like Ideal said, try kegeling before each jelq stroke. Also, try doing about 5-10 strokes, then gently massage your penis for a minute to get the erection back up.

in my attempt last night to jelq as i became flacid, i dont know if i accidentally overdid it. its pretty sore today. is that normal? should i try doing it correctly tonight or should i take a break, and for how long.

If it's painful then take some time off, but if it's just a minor soreness then it's OK. Go with a lighter grip when you jelq.
