Default Happy Veteran's Day

Happy Veteran's Day!! I know we have quite a few verteran's as well as active duty officers in this forum. I would personally like to thank all of you for all that you have sacrificed so that my fellow Americans and I could have the lives we always dreamed of.

Thank you,

Great thread jayhawk. It's been a week since Ft Hood and we still can't make sense of it, please keep these soldiers and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Yes! A solemn day is Veteran' day.
A day to remember those that gave everything they had.

Those that put life and limb on the line for the ideals of the United States of America.

Those of us that survived can hold our heads up proudly on this, "National day of tribute".

This day is a day is to remember those that just a very few remember. The names on a wall, the names in some obscure book, the names that only mean something to those that carry the burden in their hearts.
Our children in schools are not being taught about the true sacrifices that so many made to keep this country free.
Only on a day such as today, does the nation stop, pause for a moment, maybe remove their hats when the flag comes by and then go on about their lives of living in the best, freest country on earth. God Bless and protect those still carrying the fight.

EDIT: Wanted to add a special thanks to one of our members. "Dustpan" It was a man just like him that is the reason I am still here and able to write this. Thanks Dusty. JP

Yes, happy Veteran's Day to all our heros out there who risk their lives on the front lines so me, my kids and my family and friends can have the lives we have. Our country would be nothing without all of you. God bless each and every one of you who have served and those who currently serve. Thank you all for your dedication and service to our country.

Happy Veteran's Day!

I sometimes regret I didn't choose a military career. I know I would make a good soldier. I'm good at guns and gadgets. My testosterone levels go up everytime I hold the gun at target practice. Guess it just wasn't meant to happen.

My beef with our stupid goverment is that our vets don't get enough medical benifits or much help when they return home. A nation that does not effectively and comepletely support its verts is doom to fail. We are on that path and moving rather quickly.

Happy V-Day JP and the fellow vets out there. You have set a standard of courage that is unmatched, and are the epitome of freedom.
