Muscle atrophy is the partial or complete wasting away of a part of the body. Causes of atrophy include poor nourishment, poor circulation, loss of hormonal support, loss of nerve supply to the target organ, disuse or lack of exerciseor disease intrinsic to the tissue itself.
Disuse atrophy of muscles (muscle atrophy) and bones, with loss of mass and strength, can occur after prolonged immobility, such as extended bedrest, or having a body part in a cast (living in darkness for the eye, bedridden for the legs etc.). This type of atrophy can usually be reversed with exercise unless severe. Astronauts in microgravity must exercise regularly to minimize atrophy of their limb muscles.
I'm not a doctor, though I can play one on the internet. I do have expertise in many areas one of which is simple deductive reasoning. Among my other interests are diet, exercise and health. The one thing that anyone can do in life yet doctors say the majority of us do not do enough is exercise. Diet, though not as easy for most of us to control is equally important, but for the moment I want to focus on exercise.

Many people will see a doctor at some point in their adult life and by today's statistics, most will be out of shape and/or overweight so the doctor will recommend exercise. By far the majority of doctors will not recommend or prescribe a "magic pill" or "potion", they will simply prescribe exercise in the form of some physical activity that will enhance the body's metabolic efficiency, strengthen muscles and combat any atrophy in unused or rarely used muscles, limbs and tissues. Sure the doctor might suggest or prescribe vitamins and supplements to fill a void or deficiency a patient might have but no "miracle cure all" will be prescribed, that is unless you have ED, in which case they will prescribe a "magic pill" but never once prescribe exercise.
Many people will suffer injury due to accident and part of their healing process will include physical therapy or simply put, exercise. Whether it be an arm, leg, hip, back, elbow, knee, neck, shoulder, ankle, foot, hand, wrist ect....(is it redundant yet).........physical therapy will most likely be prescribed (exercise) to help the individual heal and regain use, strength and control of the injured area. This by the way, is not my oppinion, it is fact. It happens everyday , everywhere, to everyone. Oh sure, there are people who sustain injuries and can't exercise the injured area because of impending dangers but I'm speaking more of keeping healthy bodies healthy and repairing injuries or enhancing function in otherwise healthy bodies.

Masturbation, according to every medical expert who has ever spoken on it, is natural and healthy as well as important to the overall growing and maturing process. Sex in itself is one of the most natural things we as humans do and I'm quite certain that most doctors would say it is healthy and our overall health is improved by it. I submit to you now that just as walking and/or running strengthens the legs, the heart and the lungs that masturbation and/or sex strengthens the sex muscles as well as the heart and lungs. I of course, equivalate masturbation and sex to exersize of sorts, which it obviously is. Now if I am correct in my presumptions that sex and masturbation are exercises and that they are indeed healthy, why then would so many doctors say that exercising the penis is dangerous and unhealthy using the same breath that touts masturbation and sex as not only necessary, but very healthy? Doctors also perform surgeries and augmentations on genitalia daily around the world and strangely enough, they prescribe certain exercises for post surgical healing. Many surgeries are needed for damage done in accidents or caused from infections or diseases but many are also elective, strickly for enhancement purposes. Stretches and massages as well as traction is a widely prescribed post surgical therapy for patients, therefore I ask again, why is it ok then, but not simply as an everyday maintenance for someone who did not receive surgery?

Doctors go to college and get degrees so they're really smart right? It must be so because the doctor said so, right? Do you see any inconsistency at all in the reality I've laid out thus far? Is exercising the penis really as dangerous as doctors say it is? Only if exercising any part of our body is equally as dangerous and certainly not anymore dangerous than sex or masturbation. So just how dangerous is mastubation or sex? Barring STD's and sex with wild animals who happen to be equipped with large fangs and razor sharp claws, I see sex and masturbation as safe as any slide, swing, or monkey bar on the playground. Safer even than soccer, baseball, football or basketball and I would go as far to say much safer than climbing in and out of a soapy bathtub or riding in motorized vehicle on todays roads and hiways.

"I've read about many guys injuring themselves while doing PE" would be a remark from many of you. Well guess what, I've read about many people being injured while having sex or masturbating too. I've actually seen people injured while playing on playgrounds, playing sports, and doing the most mundane things in life. It happens. But stop and think of all those that weren't injured. Now stop and think for a moment as to why someone got injured and why so many did not.

Figure it out yet? It's really not that difficult. Need a hint? Its the one disease that we all suffer from occasionally but some develop a chronic case and there is no cure for it. Stupidity. There is no cure for stupidity and until there is we will always have people who can take the simplest task and turn it into a catastrophe. Do most doctors see us as stupid? I think most doctors choose to err on the side of caution and safety therefore they would have to consider all of us "less than capable" of doing that which is in our best interest at all times. Furthermore there isn't much historical data on penis exercising so very few even know about it. One day and not so far in the near future, I see the medical community acknowledging the benefits of penis exercise just as they have already acknowledged women exercising their vaginas and breasts.
Sure, hanging weights and pumping aren't safe enough for a child and pose greater risks than most exercises one would do, but simple stretching and jelqing, which are the foundation for penis exercising are certainly as safe as masturbating or having sex and one would have to zealously overdo it to actually injure himself if in fact doing them properly.

Therefore in spite of the nay sayers, and in spite of those who fall by the wayside injured for life, destined to die penisless, or worse yet, sport a rock hard flaccid at three inch mast, I will exercise due caution and care, I will exercise good judgment, I will exercise proper application and technique and as health and ability permit I will most certainly exercise my penis.

Author's Note: This article is in no way intended to mask or deny certain dangers that exist when doing penis enlargement exercises nor does it imply that PE is 100% safe. It is my hope that the readers will see that proper caution and good judgement should be exercised when engaing in any activity, whether it be sex, exercise, or even something as simple as doing laundry.
