I'm pretty sure most of you have heard of this book (actually a trilogy of books) due to the controversial BDSM subject material. What some of you might not know is that the book was written by a woman. I've read through the first book already and it's actually very easy reading. Most of it IS over the top fantasy and the book, in terms of writing quality, is actually pretty weak. BUT, I think there are certain concepts and scenarios that are very true and very intriguing. Even though you might cringe at some of the dialogue, the author does a great job of putting you in the mind of a female and letting you know how she feels.
I know the majority of the audience for this book is female, but there is a reason why women are reading this in droves and I think it would serve men extremely well to read and understand the book.
There is one part of the book (and I don't believe I'm spoiling anything by saying this) that really hits home and that is when the Dominant tells the Submissive, that even though she is tied, gagged and bound, that SHE holds all the power, not himself.
That part really got me thinking. About how I view women and sex and from the topics I have heard on here. Women DO have all the power and control. That's why us men grovel, beg, obsess, and fret about performance, penis size, appearance...all for ONE thing. For women to ALLOW us to have their sex.
And I find absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact, I wouldn't have it any other way.
But before any one thinks that means the man has to belittle himself...that is not the case. SHE has to be worth it.
