This step is likely going to be the toughest part of releasing yourself from being addicted to porn. It’s important to understand that, if you have no sexual awareness outside of what you learned from porn or if you’ve been addicted for a long period of time, it may take some time as well as effort and will power to get through the initial phase of recovery.

If you’re addicted to porn and are experiencing the detraining effect- AND you’re in an understanding, caring relationship, your partner’s understanding and cooperation can go a long way toward helping you recover. If you are not in a sexual relationship at this time, you can still make positive progress with the exercise/visualization recommendations below.

Your first course of action is the most difficult:

Stop watching porn and stimulating yourself as you view it!

This can be an extreme shock, as well as a very difficult habit to break. Some of the symptoms described in the initial article- where one finds themselves automatically getting aroused when sitting at a computer- is a good sign that there’s a deep problem! This can be an extremely emotionally upsetting series of exercises, so it cannot be stressed enough that one should ensure they have thoroughly reviewed all other options professionally available before you attempt to take matters into their own hands- so to speak!

 VERY Important: Do not stop trying to overcome your addiction merely because you have a relapse! Instead, make all possible effort to stick to the plan as outlined. Even if you slip up, it does not mean that you failed! Do not give up on yourself and stop trying altogether- no matter how many relapses you have to suffer through! If you want to recover badly enough, it can be done!

After the initial period of shock, by cutting down on the visual and physical stimulus one should notice an increase in your EQ (Erection Quality- a combined measure of stamina and hardness). From this point, one can begin what’s known as a “Stamina Only” routine (as opposed to the full enlargement/enhancement routine many men follow when looking to enhance their size, stamina, control, and hardness).
