  1. Where to Begin – For beginners, while you might be tempted to go for a high vacuum level, do not exceed a -4.5 inches of Mercury for the first several months. After you read about,  study, and practice pumping, you will learn constructive patterns to apply.
  1. Cock Rings – After pumping, you can use a cock ring to hold your penis in the expanded state.
  1. Spiking – After several months of preliminary learning and experience, incorporate “spiking” into pumping. With spiking, the vacuum baseline is set for -4.5 inches of Mercury, and then momentarily increased to a higher level, based on your comfort, then adjusted back to the baseline. Start off easy, practice to get a feel for this sequence. For example, with the baseline -4.5 inches of Mercury; the vacuum may be increased for 10 to 15 seconds to -7 inches of Mercury, than back down to the baseline. As you gain practice and mastery of this, you can work out a series of variable vacuum levels that are right for you.
  1. Edema – Edema can be quite common in pumping. Edema not only gives the penis a bloated look, which is very unattractive, but the fluid buildup on the outside pushes in on the structures on the inside of the penis resulting in a counterproductive enlargement session. To reduce edema, follow the penis pumping rules mentioned above, and apply a condom over your penis. This will offer support around the shaft of the penis to minimize edema.
