Warning: Stupid question. How do I count reps?

How do I count wet jelq reps? I'm doing JP90 and a bit of the phrasing was confusing regarding reps. I've been counting L(1)R(2)L(3)R(4). The guide says "Both hands count as 1 rep" but I don't know if I interpret that. Sorry, I know this is a stupid question, hence the title. But if I find out I've been only doing half the required reps, I'd like to reset my program from day 1.

Two strokes count as one rep.

Noooooo! My tissue's usually pretty sore already after my 50 (25) sets of 3! This is gonna be rough.

Warning, there are no stupid questions on these forums. Ask as many questions as you need to if there is anything you don't understand. Jay gave you some great advice. Also make sure you use plenty of lube.
