  • Can kegels be bad for you? What has been your experience with them for EQ?

    I've been trying to find a good kegel routine to improve erections for so long but I just overtrain so damn easily, even if I only do them every other day. I came across these articles below and they say that kegels can actually be bad for you.

    What are your thoughts? The gist of the second article is that because your PC muscle is always activated unlike other muscles in your body, it's better not to do kegels because the exercise puts unwanted stress on them. Maybe my PC muscle is already too "tight" so I cannot benefit from them?

    Could you also please tell me your own experience of kegels and erection quality? Have they helped at all? If so, what is your routine? Do kegels actually make the PC muscle stronger? When you train your biceps for example by lifting, the bicep grows in size and gets stronger, do kegels (done optimally) have this same effect on the PC muscle?

    I dont do kegels because of the potential risk of having an overactive, tight PF leading to hard flaccid. Also i dont need them, pumping has given me 11/10 EQ

      What's an overactive, tight pelvic floor? Symptoms?

      What's a hard flaccid?

        It's when your penis is a bit hard in its flaccid state and can sometimes almost "stick up" as if you have a little hard-on. From my experience of whenever I get these, if I'm wearing sweatpants or gym shorts, it makes it pop out through the clothing but not in a good way. And I noticed then I try to get a hard-on from having a hard flaccid, the erection isn't of good quality.

          Yes I can agree with the hard-flaccid thing being a risk of too much kegels. The reason for this, is that the front part of the muscles become overactive, whereas the back part is lacking behind. This can cause these hard-flaccids. To avoid this, one should always incorporate reverse kegels as well. Doing both, and making the whole pelvic floor stronger as a whole should be the goal, in order to avoid imbalances.
          I also feel that my issues with premature ejaculation come from a tight pelvic floor. Years of porn abuse and constant kegels while watching it, resulted in an overactive pelvic floor which lead to involuntary kegels during intercourse or even masturbation.

          I believe, maintaining a balanced pelvic floor can solve a lot of issues related to sexual performance.

          BPEL 18 cm (7.0 inch)
          EG 11.5 cm (4.5 inch)

              This. If anything, I do RK's from time to time. Over keigeling can cause some issues.
              Start: 5/28/2019 BPEL - 6.25, EG - 4.75
              Current: 5/23/2021 BPEL - 7.5, EG - 5.625
              Long Term Goal: BPEL - 8, EG - 6
