Can length be gained from Jelqing or does it only add girth? I only mainly want length at the moment, but I suppose a little girth wouldnt go un appreciated.

Yea, jelqing helps legnth, girth, and hardness. It's a 3-in-1 exercise
I strongly suggest sticking with jelqing, even if you only want length. You don't want to only stretch. It's best to mix it up and keep it varied.

I would even go so far to say jelqing may even be the best manual exercise for length. Jelqing is a good foundation, I think it should always be in a routine. Stretching-only routines have produced zero to slim gains for me and I've done them for a long time.

Jelquing helps with stretching for sure. Plus as an added bonus to girth your penis will become more vascular.
