Penis Size: Mean vs. Mode

Average penis size is often stated as 5.5 to 6 inches or whatever.

But what that is telling us is that if you take a sample of penis measurements, say 100 men, add up the total inches and divide by 100, you get the average, also known as the mean.

But this doesn't tell us what the most common penis size is, and I think this is what most men want to know. This is known as the mode.

It would actually answer the question of how we compare to most other men and how women would be likely to be comparing us to other men they have been with.

Has the mode for penis size in the general population ever been calculated?

The average (mean) is not a very useful figure. A large number of men in the sample with 8 inches or more would throw the average higher than most men's measurements. A large number of men in the sample with 4 inches or less would throw the result in the other direction.

1.752 inches: 1 in 3.5 million

3.402 inches: 1 in 741

Is that BPEL? I have a hard time believing the stats...Maybe I am reading this wrong but if one was to have a 7.5 inch dick you would be bigger than 97.7% of all men??? What is everyone's take on this? Iguana...I appreciate the information and hell, I hope its true

Today everyone has access to porn, this is what drives the wanting a bigger unit machine. Everyone see's Mr. Bigdong and believes 90% of the world is like that. Camera angles and lenses can work wonders with a 6.5" unit. However, yes, 7.5" is big.

Mode gives a true representation of a smaller quantity of samples from a large group. Averaging a smaller sample could be inaccurate if it had a few very large or small numbers mixed with a true average number. But that was still very interesting to see the results of that large of a group sampled. It most likely is accurate.

Yes, I think so.

I assumed that the LifeStyles study used BP measurement because it was conducted by clinical/medical personal and that is de rigueur with those folks.

amen to that Kingpole. it's actually the same thing you see with bodybuilders. lifting like 3 times more than most other and still think they are small. it's actually a mental sickness like anoreksia. they look in the mirror and say: im small.

my ex girlfriends ex had an erect lenght like 10.7 inches.

she was more or less a size queen, but what i realised what he had in lenght i had to have else where. and after really getting to know her body we didn't have any sexuel issues at all. however it was a weird feeling to know that he had something almost double as big as mine.

i don't see anything wrong in admitting you don't have the size you want, and my goal is around 8 inches. at this point i will stop, because girls can also be the other way around and refusing to have sex with you because they are afraid of the huge anaconda they find in your pants. but i really think its important to state a goal before you start. and an early goal and an end game goal aswell. because else you will just keep getting disapointed in yourself.

heres something for statistics. my partner claims to have been with someone who's at least 11, maybe 12 and according to her close to a beer can thick. that was right before we got together. big ego blow to me. she says it was a one timer, screaming pain and very drunk. easily the size of her forearm she said. she's also been with two others larger than me one she claims as maybe 9 and consideribly thicker than me, and another 8 and thicker. all these have been taller guys according to her 6'3 6'4 and the giant wang 6'7 guy. she's been with others taller than me that where smaller. a couple my size ie like 2 people. and everyone else has been smaller. smallest she claims was like my thumb so i'm guessing 3.5" . she guessed my size on the dot during this conversaition. 7 length 5 girth, she didn't try to guess girth. so i know her numbers have some meaning even though she didn't use a ruler. now shes a nurse, she sees dick all day long working in the er. she says although they are flacid she can tell a big one when she sees it. she judges by how it fits her hand doing a cath install. maybe 1 to 2 per 10 is large and random very large come through. after being with me for many years as a grower, her perception of a flacid to erect gain my be off some i suspect since i can turtle up with lots of cold and cafeen to less than 3, maybe even around 2 at some points. if she grabs a soft one full fisted and her hand is away from the body to install cath she claims that as large and the further her hand away is, the larger she rates them. its normal enough that they don't think anything about it and gossip to fellow coworker. although once in a great while, they will run across the true giants and spread the news if time allows.
