Well i think one would begin thier edging merely by timing the stroking the shaft portion of the penis. But the timing shoud also include other aspects of the experience. I like to start off here lately with a nutt massage. Gently massage you testicles. While your at this is a good time to examine your nuts fo any lumps. This should be done once a month just like a woman does a breast exam.
Well i do the nut massage for about 5 minutes before stroking the shaft. It seems to get me even more erect. This may also help relieve pent up tress. I also alturnate from shaft work to nut work during the PONR. It is best to massage you balls when they are relaxed.
Then i will let the glans relax and do a 100 forbidden glans rub. Forbidden glans rub if done softly enough will trigger off a series of dry orgasms. One right after another.
Clock watching, im trying to get away from this so i can emphasize more on orgasmic sensations. I think orgasmic sensations is far more important than your mind being spent on the number of minutes you use up while edging.
Also include into your edging session erect kegels. Erect kegels in my opinion gives you a harder erection than ballooning does. You can also include light jelqing or erect kegel jelqs.
Instead of doing hard kegels try a modest kegel and see how long you can hold it.

I have a question ..
Is it a benefit to do edging on rest days, or is that a bad thing ?

Dirk if you read many of KP's posts you will find lots of errors in the english and lots of great info.

I am simply amazed at what Kingpole does for The PE Gym, he has overcome or found away around many obsticles. Maybe Kingpole can tell Dirk about a few of these when he has time.

Whenever i try to edge, i kegel as im about to orgasm. Depending on how close to ejaculating i am determins how flaccid my penis will be afterwards. So, if im right about to ejaculate, and i kegel real hard, my penis immediatly becomes flaccid, and i have like a mini orgasm. Am i doing something wrong here?

what you are describing is very very common. Do a search for "retrograde ejaculation" and read about it- then as your PC gets stronger you can prevent yourself from ever getting that far past the PONR
also it is very common to go somewhat flaccid after you kegel really hard. Although if you have not cum it should be easy to get that stiffy backWhat I would do is try to relax the PC MORE as you approach the PONR and don't kegel unless you absolutely have to. Practice this and you will become a master of your ejaculations.
