  • rice sock warm up, will it need replacement rice after a while?

Currently using extra long grain enriched rice. I used some similar to this, but it completely burned, and the smell lingered in my house for a while.

Right now, I just heat this other kind of rice up, but just noticed steam coming out.

    Any thoughts on this?

Yes . Use only regular rice . The other type burns and will spoil .
My sock's 2 years old and is as good as new .

What is considered regular rice, since this rice is starting to burn as well. I'm only putting it in for 60~90 seconds, I also have some brown rice.

If your sock starts smelling like dick, and your dick starts smelling like rice, it's time to replace one of them(My votes on the sock.)

Long grain white rice . Not quick - rice .
I use a long white knee sock .
            Using about 1 cup .
Sewing or tying it to keep the rice in .
            2 min . on high .
More than that will burn your meat !!
Check it on your arm to see how hot .

I don't legitimately laugh out loud at many things, but this little number did so. Kudos

Thanks for the input, I'm guessing if it's enriched, it's not regular. Since my long grain white rice was burning; however, the brown rice wasn't enriched, and just said long grain.

Also, some of these replies made me laugh

Careful with brown rice: it does not do well under long term storage, that's why they take off the husk to make it white. Also, the husk may burn when microwaved

Yeah, I'm looking into flaxseed, where did you buy yours? Also thanks for that extra bit of info about the brown rice, rockitman.

I also use flax seed and havnt changed it yet. I think it has alot more mileage on it still, plus it smells earthy went microwaved which I like.

I got mine from a Health shop, pretty sure you can get it anywhere... Even eBay.

are you supposed to soak the rice sock before microwaving? or do you just stick the sock in there?... I currently use a hot towel and am sick of the constant reheating.

and the rice is supposed to be cooked before putting it into the sock, correct?

Google how to make one, it's so simple.
You don't cook the rice beforehand and you don't wet the rice before microwaving it.
