Hello All,
I have been a lurker on this forum for a while and am pretty impressed by the level of support offered here by this community. I hope I can benefit from this support in the long run. Unlike many others on this forum that have started from being "average-sized", I am under average size-wise and that has pretty much made my personal life non-existent for the last 10 years. I resigned myself to my misfortune and chose to do nothing about it. But to be honest, I am quite tired of feeling sorry for myself and being miserable. If I can bring myself to an average size on the girth dimension, I will consider that a personal victory. I am going to start the beginner's jelq routine tomorrow. I just have a few initial questions that I am hoping some of you here might be able to help me with. My questions are as follows:
a. Given that "morning wood" is a luxury we have in the morning, is that the best time to do the jelq routine? I don't want to spend a whole lot of time on this so I don't want to struggle with the motions of getting an erection.
b. For a hot warm-up, I was thinking of using the "bed buddy" offered by Walgreens since it offers a steady amount of head for a long period of time. I was thinking in terms of a 5-minute warmup. Is that too little for a beginner?
c. I understand that there is an inherent risk of me losing my erection with the heat. What are the some of the quickest ways some of you have managed to get a partial erection right after the initial warmup?
d. I am thinking of doing 150 jelqs in a single session. I understand that there is a fairly high possibility of me losing my partial erection entirely before I hit 150. I can try a few times to bring myself back to a partially erect state but what if multiple attempts don't help. Is this something many of you have experienced? Is there some sort of conditioning that minimizes the chances of this happening? Thoughts?
e. For the warm-down, I was thinking of another 5 minutes.
f. How much time per day does this typically take for you folks?
I was planning on doing this 5 times a week. Does this sound like a reasonable beginner's routine? If I have asked something that has already been addressed elsewhere in the forum, I sincerely apologize. I look forward to hearing from some of you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

Just so you know, you should not have a full erection for jelqing. In fact, that is very dangerous. Most people say 50-75% erect is a good range to jelq. However, some say 30-50% is best. So you may find a personal level that is best for you. As far when to do your routine, it's up to you. I like to do mine in the shower as much as possible and if I have to continue out of the shower that's fine. I think as a beginner I was warming up for 7 minutes or so. As you start to grasp your body's needs, you will better understand how to format your routine. Start with 10 minutes for warm-up and if you experience no negative PI's(Physical Indicators) then continue with 10 minutes or try 7. As for your routine, you may consider the JP90. Most beginners start with that routine and are very pleased. Your warm down for 5 minutes sounds good to me. I would start with your routine with maybe 2 days on, rest for 1 day, then back to 2 days on, and so on. Currently, I do 5 days in a row, then rest the weekend. However, I can see signs if my body needs less or more and make adjustments accordingly. Consider your first month to be a trial period to learn how your body works, what your body needs, and how to understand your PI's. Good Luck!

Welcome to the Gym SO. You are on the right track. Warm-ups are important, usually 10 minutes. Warm down is about 5 minutes. Take a look through here.https://www.pegym.com/forums/beginne...cess-here.html
You will find a lot of info here. There are 4 beginner routines listed as well. I recommend the JP90 routine. The routine takes 40-45 minutes to do. A lot of guys including myself have done well with this routine.
Good luck.Bondage.

Welcome to the Gym Silent Observer! Sounds like you already did some reading and are ready to go. My husband uses a heating pad to warm up and he still can do the routine fine. For everything else the boys in here can help out.

Thank you so much for the prompt response. I am basically going to work with even the slightest semblance of an erection for the jelq. If it gets close to a 75% erection, I will let it subside before continuing. I think I'll start with a 10-minute warmup to stay on the safer side. Thank you so much for the encouraging words. It's what I love about this community.

Thank you so much. I am somewhat torn between the JP90 routine and the recommended for those with not much time. I am guessing the 40-45 minutes includes the stretches too - which I don't really plan on doing since I am focusing exclusively on girth for now. Given that I am starting from a less than average girth, this will still work with the right level of commitment..is that a fair assertion?

Thanks so much. Good to know! I tried the hot towel thing before and that never seems to work well. It is too hot and it's difficult to sustain a moderate heat level for a given period of time. I am relying heavily on the support of people here. I really need to get myself out of the rut that I have been in for a disturbingly long period of adolescent life.

You can get gains from the program no matter what size you are when you start. The main thing is to just start and stay committed. You will get bored sometimes, hit plateaus, etc. Just don't give up on yourself. Just remember we are all here to support and encourage you. How much girth are you wanting to gain?

A 1/2 inch in girth is surely possible by the end of summer. It's not a guarantee but it is possible. Just stick to your routine. You mentioned 150 jelqs in your routine. You can probably start with a little more. I would start with about 225 total. Be sure to do them between 60% and 70% erect. Take about 3-4 seconds on each jelq. If you have positive PI's the first week, then increase to 250 the next week and so on. How often you do your exercises is up to you. You can try 5 on 2 off, of if thats too much, drop to 2 on 1 off or 3 on 2 off. Whatever works for you and keeps good PI's. Warm ups are very important as are warm downs.
