Hi everyone. I hope some of you can help newbies like me understand the importance of EQ. I'm sure I'm not the first to have questions about EQ, and this is something obviously important to all of us.
My EQ isn't what I'd like it to be, especially when I'm jelqing.
So a few questionsfor those with more experience:
1) How do you actually grade your EQ?
2) Is it possible to grade EQ objectively?
3) Also, what EQ should I be shooting for when I'm doing my measurements and jelqing?
4) What can you recommend to help improve my EQ?
5) Ways to improve and maintain EQ when I'm jelqing?
6) How important is jelqing EQ to seeing gains?

Not to be confused with erection level, which is the percentage of your erection, not the quality of it at 100%.
2 - I have thought about using the steak tenderness method used by chefs.
3 - Measure at your highest erection level, whatever your EQ is at the time. This will also help to track any EQ gains. Jelq at higher percentage (no more than 80%) for girth focus, lower for length focus.
4 - Quit porn, no excessive masturbation, exercise, plenty of fluids and rest, and of course, a consistent and safe PE routine (jelqs, kegels, etc). You may also want to take a look at supplements like L-Arginine, and the 5-G's. Works for some, but not all.
5 - Erection control is a common issue among beginners. Some good info can be found here in rbi99's thread; Helpful Jelqing Information (updated).
6 - Erection percentage is pretty important, especially when focusing your routine for specific gains. However, there is some "cushion", so don't stress about it too much. Just make sure you are not too hard or soft until you get the hang of it.
EQ is important, because it is a good indicator as to whether what you're doing is effective or not, according to your PI's.

Thanks for a detailed great response, work_in_4_it. I really want to make sure I get the most out of your answers to my questions. Can you please help me with a little more? What exactly do you mean by the terms erection level and erection percentage? I think I may be confusing erection percentage and erection quality. And I don't know what erection level is and how I would measure that. Thanks for you patient with the newbie!

Hey, no problem.
Your erection level and percentage are the same thing, just different terms. So if you have a half-erection, or a semi, it would be @ 50%, for example.
Your EQ is the quality of your erection at a 100% erection level. So a 10 would be like steel, almost uncomfortable, completely rigid and engorged. Serious wood!

Hey workin_4_it, THANK YOU for explaining this for me and other newbies. I now have a good understanding of erection level/percentage and EQ. This will help me as I continue with my PE routine.

With a eq of ten you can use your dick as a kickstand.lol...joke...I think 10 would be while your standing it is pointing up not straight out.
Before 6.5 bpel 6.0 nbpel 4.9 meg
NOW 7.5 bpel 6.5 nbpel 5.6 meg

I'd love to have an EQ of ten...or even 7 or 8 at this point. I finish week 2 of JPs 90 day routine tomorrow. I have no experience with PE but I think the program JP set up is great. It seems safe, but it also seems pretty intense to me. I warm up for 10 minutes and then do about 10 minutes of the basic stretches. My jelqing (regular and V jelqs) take me about 25 minutes. I need to let myself enjoy the jelqing sessions more. Right now I'm really focusing on doing everything right and that may be keeping me from getting more erect.
I'd love to have a kickstand! And I'd like it to be long enough as well..Start BPEL 4.9 MSEG 4.7
