I have been doing JP 90 for about 2 months now, and I have a question. I love doing PE and have made some decent gains so far. But very early on I began experiencing some turtling and a general feeling of some "tug back" at all hours of the day. (Similar to what you experience when you stretch and kegel) I read some stuff on turtling and wasn't too concerned with it, but now I've noticed that if I look at my unit when I feel this, the head is actually shrinking back within the skin and my flacid is VERY small. However, all my measurements have indicated growth.
According to the thread here about PI's I should continue doing what I'm doing since I've been growing, but this "extreme turtling" is really bothersome. All my other PI's are nuetral or good I would say - getting some night and morning wood and EQ is very good. Any ideas on how to combat this, or should I just get used to it? I also took a week off and the feeling only subsided slightly. It "worsened" when I began PE again (even with a lighter routine). Thanks in advance for any advice.Started 10/7/2013 Current 12/7/2013

Congratulations on your gains, and thank you for researching and for asking questions
As for your question, Do you warm up/down, if yes, then how and for how long.
Overall, I wouldn't be too concerned about it since all other PIs are positive or neutral, but turtling may indicate using much force, it is also a natural reaction from the body.A real man never hurts a woman. Thanks for your prompt response MrB8, I warm up for 10 minutes and warm down for 5-10 minutes. I've tried cooling down too, but that seems to accelerate the onset of this turtling. (You would think it would be the opposite, I know) I wasn't too concerned with the turtling bc of what I read here, but I've gotten concerned that the PI is actually negative, given the extremely small size of my flacid for most of the day.

You are welcome,
Turtling is a neutral PI, and since all the rest are positive, especially that you are gaining, it cant be interpreted as negative sign, however, if you want you may try and use a bit less force and see how will things go, maybe all positives with gains.
Cooling down is recommended after an intense workout, if you feel you hurt yourself, otherwise, I believe it accelerates turtuling.A real man never hurts a woman. I experienced a lot of turtleing in the beginning when I first started.
The thing is that you are introducing something entirely new to your
penis so it will reacted accordingly.
Don't worry about it.Think about if someone woke you up out of a
sound sleep(Maybe as wrong analogy) how would you react to it.
I know when I was younger I would probably yell and afterwards
would try to go back to sleep(like i said probably wrong analogy)

BUT, even slightly uncomfortable force is to much force, especially in the beginning. This was causing that "tug back" sensation and turtling for me. I took a week off and then resumed with less force on the stretches and jelqs. Things have now resolved for me and havent been having the turtling problem. I would take a week off. After that resume with just a warm up, shakes, helicopters and some light edging for a week. the following week go back to your routine with less force this time. I hope this helps, it worked for me.As of 11/11/14

I agree that turtling is kind of a neutral PI that can swing either way, making it hard to determine how it should be handled.
If all other PIs are positive, perhaps some post-workout heat application can help, or even an anti-turtle sleeve or ADS can help "train" your penis to want to remain in a more relaxed/extended state.
