There are other ways to find threads.

Like in libraries, there are ways to categorize books for easy access, you won't put a science book in the cook books section to get attention and vice versa.

It wasn't to get attention. I have solid points but I don;t feel like debating it. It was in the general section, not some specialized section so in your analogy, it would be like "new books general" section.That's my first point. The second point is that you are talking about "finding" threads. Who says they were looking? (of course you can find without looking ...stumble upon...but that;s my point).

Anyway, I definitely respect your authority. If you don't see y points, that's fine. I'm sure there are members who like to help others that peruse the beginners section looking to offer advice or if you are lucky, some members comment and it stays n the new post section for long enough for members to catch it.

The main reason I responded back is to clarify that I did not choose to put it in an inappropriate section to get attention. Personally I see pluses and minuses of both methods.

There is that thing on the side that allows you to see ANY new post (If it happens to be an active thread and they happen to catch it) but other than that, the vet answers and fun answers I was looking for probably won't happen because you won't have vets hanging around the beginners forum. If you don't see my point, forget it.

Vets are always in the beginners forum. We are there because we are looking to help any new comers with questions. What would be the purpose of asking a beginner question if there isn't a knowledgeable vet to answer?

A little off topic, but another way to find threads if you want to see more is go to the button on top marked WHATS NEW then you can see things you might have missed during the night or if you were involved in a thread, or listening to some music, whatever. It is a good place to see more of what is trending than just the ten current on the side of the page.
As to avoiding beginner threads. The vets spend a tremendous amount of time and effort trying to help beginners not have issues. So one of the main threads that get our attention is beginner threads. That being said things get missed a lot.

Just click on the Beginner's Forum link on the main page, it will show you the threads sorted in the order you choose (Reverse Chronological order by default).
