Thread: Weightless flat-footed squat

For maximum benefit, should these be done in reps or should you go down into the squat position and maintain that position for several minutes? I always assumed this needed to be done in reps for maximum benefit to the pelvic floor, however, I've noticed a lot of members performing them while holding the position for several minutes as opposed to performing X number of reps.

Movement works better than a stationary position.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I also feel the stretch in my pelvic floor a lot more when performing the squats as reps.

Therefore our bodies are designed more for squatting than sitting. For excersize movement is better. For ongoing stretching, and maintenance there is great benefit is holding it as a yoga pose.
