It refers to LOT theory which JonPop states is obsolete—4 years earlier—in the JP90 guide. There are also mathematically detailed recommendations based on the TCG theory (tunica and smooth muscle limiting factors) as if it is proven. Is it?
I haven't heard of these things outside of PE Gym and the article is now 3 years old. Looking for clarification.
Here's the link for reference.

The TCG theory has a lot going for it. In terms of what is presented vs what people know about the varied differences in peoples packages + it makes a fair bit of common sense.
LOT has more to do with hanging than gains in general and doesn't seem to play as important a part as TCG theory does in terms of general manual PE.
There is a thread in the theory forum all about TCG and its a fairly good read from start to finish.

The LOT is not obsolete, but just less relevant for beginners starting stretching, it is mainly targeting hangers, but can be used for stretching as well, I would say, if you are a beginner, do not worry about neither theories right now, and focus on conditioning. Stretch in all directions and follow a well rounded routine targeting both length and girth.
For a more detailed discussion on the LOT theory you may find the following thread helpful.

The TGC theory is also very relevant and applied to this day, just not meant for beginners, it mainly targets those who have hit a plateau.A real man never hurts a woman. The woman came out of a man’s rib, not from his feet to be walked on, and not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal. The creation a routine thread will stand the test of time. It is a fantastic way to make routines after your conditioned.

Yeh, it is great. It will always help you to illustrate what the "bread and butter" of PE is in your routine. There are lots of designated routines already laid out, but after these beginner ones it is good to have a routine creation plan and to adjust it for your aims.
