  • Questions about kegels

    Hello!

I am reading up on PE and will soon start exercising.
The program I'm going with is the JP's 90 Day Beginner Routine.

In the program it mentions doing kegels in the stretching phase and later on states that reverse kegels should be incorporated in the routine as well.

Should I only kegel while doing the stretching exercises?
Or maybe after all the exercises are done I should do a kegel/reverse kegel routine? And would 50:50 be a good ratio for kegel/reverse kegel?

Would love to hear some insights on this matter.

    Best regards.

I would do your kegel routine after your workout but before edging, if you do edging. The ratio of kegel to reverse kegel should be based on your personal pelvic floor balance which might take some time to figure out.

A good place for kegel routines and general info about it is here

From memory the kegels in the jp are included as part of the stretches and so are integral . When the jp was devised little was known of rk and pelvic floor balance . When it became apparent that a routine that has k should have rk they were added .
I sometimes kegel during stretches to increase resistance then rk to "release ".
