I see a lot of people talking about gains of 0.1" or a couple of cm in girth.
I dont see how increases in length of this magnitude can be conclusively put down to gains. Surely its far more likely that increases like this are more likely due to temperature, stress levels, diet, incorrect measurement, variation in EQ, or simply what day it is, or a hundred other reasons.
As far as im concerned, the only significant gains are ones of 0.25" or greater. If you measure in at 6" and then two weeks later measure in at 6.25" (assuming you measure correctly) at least you know there has been an increase which cannot be accounted for by any other factors.
What do the rest of you guys think?

Here we go again Marj, to each his own. I agree with you wholeheartedly, but for a guy desperate for a longer or thicker unit, anything is something. Even more amazing is the guy who says his unit felt thicker or looked longer so he measured it, and wham, found it's a whole tenth of an inch bigger. As you can see in my signature I have some gains that are there, but like you said, aren't at least the full 1/4" that to me is conclusive of gain.

I understand what you mean. But...
When I measure, I write down what the ruler or the measuring band says on my scheduled measurement day. And that number I post on my progress log. So yeah, if there are gains like 0.2cm, I will write them down. Why? Because that was the number on that day. Maybe it changes due to those things you list there but for me, if I am scheduled to measure in every three weeks on a certain day, I report what the ruler say on that day - no matter if it is only 0.20cm.
And small streams total to a big river. Meaning that if you always report 0.20cm numbers, maybe in six months when you compare the total, there is 1cm difference to the starting measurement. So those small 'gains' actually are correct.
In my opinion a gain that is produced by a better EQ is a gain! If you have been fucking with EQ 8 that is pointing 9 o'clock and then after two months of PE, you fuck with a dick that you rate to have an EQ of 10 and is pointing at 11 o'clock and is suddenly 1cm longer. That 1cm for me is a gain, no matter if it is caused ONLY by improved EQ.

Definitely see your point about the EQ Elias
As for the measurement, i think you've got it nailed really. If you're measuring say every week and on the day you measure you happen to be bigger (for whatever reason) then so be it. I think there are some people though who measure very regularly, which i think is where irrelevant 'results' creep in.
But good points nonethelessStart (12/12/09): BPEL: 6 1/8" | NBPEL: 5 7/8" | EG: 5 1/4"
Current (15/01/09): BPEL: 6 3/8" | EG: 5 3/8"
Goal: NBPEL: Over 7" | EG: 5 3/4"-6"

I agree that anything under a quarter of an inch is insignificant. Whether you measure frequently or infrequently, just remember to write it down in your log and to measure exactly the same way as best you can. It is SOOOOO true that our cocks are "waxing and waning." So you need to look at the whole picture and on a long term basis. I would think in terms of two kinds of measurements: one BPEL and one stretched flaccid. Girth measurements are much easier and less likely to vary from time to time.

i think this way also. until i'm hitting 7.5 bpel every measurement, i know its just a matter of EQ.

I like to track my growth in periods and very accurately. Maybe because I am a uni student and empirical research is something I like to do.
I measured last Thursday. There was only 0.20cm growth compared to the previous time in December. Maybe it was due to EQ you might say, maybe it is 'real' growth. Who knows! All I know that if I had had sex that day after measuring, I would have filled her pussy with my 18.6cm dick. But if I had had sex three weeks ago on measuring day, she would have only gotten 18.4cm. And if in three weeks I measure 18.8cm...well, you got the picture.
For me, the ruler does not lie. What matters to me is that the numbers keep on growing every time I pull out my ruler. Since starting in September, I have gained 1.6cm in EL. I don't care how much of that is 'real' growth, all I know my dick is bigger than ever!

I measure on my two 100% rest/recovery days every two weeks. Two days, two measurements. Works well for me.
Starting Size (09/2009): ~7"BPEL x ~5" MSEG
Most Recent Measurement (08/13/2012): 8"BPEL x 5.5"MSEG
Final Goal: When I'm told to stop.
