Thread: Hi guys / Developmental question

Just signed up to say hello and get a question out, all in one first thread. =D
I used to think all this PE stuff I heard about was hype until I came here and saw progress logs, pretty impressive. This lead to me deciding to get into it and it seems like the type of thing that requires commitment and motivation so I'm hoping regular posting on here should keep both commitment and motivation at 10/10 rather than coming on here when I end up at 3/10 with no support. Good to know the forum has a policy of making legible posts as well!
Now for the question;
I haven't been 18 for long and am a late bloomer in comparison to my friends development and I'm at that point now where you notice a jump in muscle growth but they're all "filling out" so I'm one step behind. I'm about 147 pounds at 11percent body fat and they're at 170+ with same bodyfat I know all this because we're conscientious of our bodies and like to know whats going on and 3 are training to be PTs and one is second year physio at uni. Discussion usually revolves around physical health.
So I wanted to know if exercising at this point would be more beneficial to me or about the same in terms of benefits/time/health?
To make this thread more interesting how about everyone post the age they started?
I'll get my stats soon to post also.

Yeah I eat a lot and frequently, I just cut a bit of fat so I wasn't hell jiggling at the beach (It's summer in Aus)

Hah, that's difficult to remember, but I was born in September and I know it was in primary school so puts me around 11 years old.
