  • Bad erection quality, weak orgasms and loss of sensation 25 YO male

    Dear all,

I have been having some issues with sexual virility after continued use of antidepressants for some time. To this day I used:
    • Prozac(about a month)
    • Paxil + Wellbutrin(2 months)
    • Paxil switched to Prozac
    • Laroxyl (1.5 years)
    • Cipralex(1.5 years)

I have discontinued all these medicines by the proper tapering off procedure and it has been 1 year that I am clear of all of them. My problem is although I want sex in my brain and really admire nice women sexually my penis seems to be disconnected every time. In the short relationship I had for a month I was not able to penetrate my GF due to severe ED resulting in the end of the relationship. Also in various paid sex arrangements I suffered from lack of sensation and delayed ejaculation together with a small amount of semen. Masturbation sessions are also no fun for me and I do not feel much. I used to porn masturbate and orgasm; however I never do it now and still the problem persists.

I had checked with mental health counselors, urologists and had some blood tests done which resulted in values within range. To be more precise here are the blood test results:

    Prolactin 5.16 ng/mL (4-15.20)
    Testosterone TOTAL 616 ng/dL (249-836)
    Testosterone FREE 15.8 ng/dL (5.70-17.82)

    A previous test:
    Testosterone TOTAL 4.45 ng/mL (1.75-7.81)
    Testosterone FREE 17.2 pg/mL (9-55)
    Vitamin D3 18.14 ng/mL (10-70)

The doctors in my country do not take my complaints pretty seriously and I have run out of the coverage of my health insurance. This lack of sexual response/pleasure makes me afraid of intimacy and I am not very keen on pursuing a partner due to this. I already lost my previous partner exactly for this reason. Also my psychiatrist who prescribed most of the antidepressants tell me that the effects wore off in 15 days.

Currently I am 25 years-old and getting my master's in electrical engineering. Apart from that I lead a physically active life by hitting the gym, boxing, dancing and sailing. I would really appreciate any comment/suggestions/feedback/confirmation on my situation.

    Thanks

I take it they tested blood flow etc?

You could try a kegel /rk routine .

What country do you live in?

I took Paxil when I was a teenager (after my ED started) and it made my penis cold and lifeless. Erectile dysfunction is a common problem with Paxil. My question is whether these drugs can do permanent damage or alterations to your brain chemistry.

How long were you on these drugs? Did you have ED before you started them?

      Do you get morning erections?

Your testosterone looks good, prolactin is normal.

      Where are you located?
Life struggle with extreme erectile dysfunction since I was 15. Diagnosed with venous leak. When I turned 30-years old, I found out I had hypogonadism (low testosterone) and sub-clinical hypothyroidism. TRT can be a cure for venous leak if you are hypogonadal.

A reverse kegel is a stretch type exercise for the pelvic floor.

A little more sun to increase vit d levels might be considered .

Actually I occasionally have morning wood and I did not have ED before them. Actually my first sexual experience was after using Paxil/Wellbutrin combination for some time and I suffered from ED back then. I have been on these drugs for a total of 4 years. Regarding your question I think they can permanently change some mechanisms in your brain, but most professionals are too laid-back to accept that fact.

Also I struggled with digestive problems and I am allergic to some food including eggs. One more thing: I can barely eat when I wake up in the morning and no matter what I tried I could not find a solution to that. Previously I also used medicines for GERD(reflux) and gastritis, and as far as I read these can also contribute to my current situation. For these conditions I used Gaviscon, Nexium(to be replaced with Prabex after some time). Also may I be zinc deficient?

This thing really deteriorates my self-confidence, and I really want to regain my sexual virility as a young man. I do not masturbate to porn anymore, yet I look at it occasionally. I went abroad for some internship and I also had paid sexual encounters there without any problems, and I was a quick cummer with a long refractory period so to speak. Back then I had not used any Cipralex(eqv. of Lexapro) and this might have taken the most toll on my sexual functioning, yet the psychiatrist just denies it.

I also have prior general blood tests with thyroid hormones and they were normal. In most of the paid encounters I am able to cum through vaginal sex(at least for the first time) yet when I had a lover I lost erection before penetration and those erections were not good ones either(before losing).

A too tense bc muscle Will reduce orgasm sensation drastically.

You are very tense and i had some of Those symptoms when i was in your seat.

Skip kegels and do hindu squats and rks for few weeks.

There was a period i didnt ejaculate for 2 months, because the bc was so tense i literally felt nothing when orgasming

                    Good luck

Actually to put it in another way I do feel some pleasure while orgasming. The rest is not that pleasurable.

Men tend to carry stress in thier tongue/jaw, neck/shoulders, and pelvic floor.
ALL THE WAY WITH GOOD OLE JAY!

Get estrogen tested. Estradiol, commonly noted as E2. Even if testosterone is all in the clear, very high/low estrogen can be disastrous to sexual performance and desire.
