  • Anyone Else Have Low Testosterone?

I am 26 years old, not obese, and fairly active. I have many symptoms of low T, but never realized that all of these things could be related. I have low muscle mass, fat distribution around my hips, occasional depression, fatigue, and ED. While none of these problems are severe in my case, they are present.

I had my Testosterone tested a few weeks ago and the results came back low. From what I can find online, the average levels for men my age in average physical condition are around 670 ng/dl. Mine are:

    Testosterone: 280 ng/dL

    Free Testosterone: 8.8 pg/ml

I won't know more until I see an Endocrinologist, which I hope will happen soon. Anyways, have any of you guys that had low T saw improvement in your ED after treatment? I am finding conflicting reports online. Some people saw no improvement in ED, and there are articles that claim ED caused by low T is a myth. I am also finding some people that no longer have ED after starting TRT, and Erectile dysfunction is listed and one of the leading symptoms of low testosterone.

I am hoping to hear from others with this problem.

I had low test . I got over it with natural methods . It was caused by stress.

When exactly did you start experiencing low T symptoms? It might be possible to elevate T naturally without any replacement therapy. Depression, anxiety releases cortisol which has negative impact on testosterone - lowers it down.

Edit: By the way, your T levels are low end of average. If fluctuates between 250ng/dl to 850ng/dl. It's highly unlikely ED is caused by testosterone, more like low libido but, depression, fatigue, anxiety - basicly all mental problems who threatens your mental health can cause some ED - just my two cents...

I'm having a hard time with the large range used in determining what is normal. The scale that doctors use seems to include men of all ages with and no distinction between those that are healthy and those that are obese and/or have medical conditions that are lowering their testosterone. From the information I can find online, my levels might be considered "normal" if I were 60 years old and had diabetes. I'll continue to gather information, and wait to see and endocrinologist before I start any sort of supplementation or TRT.

It's hard to say how long I've have symptoms of low T. I've had ED since I was 18, but it got worse around the age of 20 and hasn't improved or gotten worse since. As far as the rest of my symptoms, I would say that I've them since puberty.

My last level before I started testosterone replacement therapy was 193, my last since was over 800. I feel a lot better and am losing weight for no reason other than TRT. Guess it boosts metabolism. I need to hit the weights and regain the muscle I've lost. Other priorities first though.

Testosterone is helluva hormone. I've battled 5 year severe depression - my T levels were like 90 old man. When I finally have dealt with depression and got my T levels back - it was wooah! world stop being black and white and boring

Actually my doc hesitated with my TRT request.

280 is on the low side of the acceptable range for all. However this includes seniors. For younger guys, you should probably be above 350.

i was on TRT and after six months my T level increased from 290 to over 800; however, my PSA also started to increase so my doc recommended I phase out of TRT.

The TRT definitely increased libedo but did little to improve my ED.

Hmmm so the question is are you having depressions because of low T or you have low T because of depressions?

What of your porn viewing habits? ED in younger folks like yourself can be linked to porn induced ED.

I'm 56 yrs old and have suffered low T. Am on current gel treatment. It helps, but has not cured erection problems.

Have you started a PE program to see if exercising your unit helps with your EQ?

I get issues if my test falls below 500.

TRT never will fix your ED issues.

Are they physical issues? Do you feel a difference, or are they mental, ie only in your mind?
